So excited to share that my 1st book of poetry, Wet Reckless, is forthcoming from Riot in Your Throat! Cheryl Strayed wrote: “Your book has a birthday. You don’t know what it is yet.” After 12+ years submitting/revising/trying to keep believing in it, I finally get to say: my book has a birthday!

Dove in deep for National Poetry Month…all the gorgeous poetry collections and chapbooks I finishing reading in April 🤓🌸

Feels so good to feel so hungry again for poetry post-AWP, another collection I couldn’t put down! Alison Benis White has long been a favorite. Some magic I jotted down (would’ve written less hastily if I knew I’d post, love a loopy cursive 😬): “I don’t know how to love the world but to confess.”

Finished reading Scorched Earth by Tiana Clark in bed before work this morning. The line that made me leap up and run to my desk and notebook: “Who do you think you are / without shame?”
