2/2 I find it altogether paradoxical that the @ec.europa.eu has pumped huge amounts of money for research in advanced env biotechnologies for decades—what has delivered amazing stuff—just to find later that the results cannot make it to the market due to most intricate, if not absurd regulations 😵‍💫!

1/2 The regulatory labyrinth for commercialisation of GE bacteria for deliberate env release eg bioremediation, biofertilization or disease control in the EU. Note that each of the 27 member states must emit an opinion & a vote 😱. No wonder the field is altogether stagnant at this side of the pond ☹️
