day 26: hardest boss battle (excluding superbosses) Wiegraf/Belias in Riovanes Castle in FTT is one of the reasons I'm loath to revisit the game tbh any solo battle in SRPGs is usually skewed against you but that one is just uniquely miserable

day 23: favorite minigame VII's chocobo breeding and racing is the kind of thing deep enough and intricate enough that you could maybe spin a whole game out of it, were you so inclined, so probably that

day 22: Final Fantasy you played most in terms of total play time, it's going to be either Tactics Advance or Tactics A2, no question (SRPGs are my jam) in terms of unique playthroughs I think it's probably the GBA remake of I (as part of the "Dawn of Souls" package)

so I just finished the first draft of my current project it's short (45.5k words) but that can be fixed it's a twist on the "knight rescues princess from dragon" tale the knight's a coward, the princess is a bitch, and the dragon is a pimp yes I am insane #writesky #indieauthor

day 21: favorite armor design (pretty interesting query) the Ivalice judges' armor has always caught my eye across the games it appears in (so probably that) the dragoon armor is sleek as fuck but maybe a bit on the nose tbh

day 20: favorite story Final Fantasy Tactics certainly has a story that resonates even now and I quite love that honorable mentions to FFTA, XII, IX, and even VII

day 19: favorite supporting character or NPC after thinking about it I kept coming back to FFIX's Cid him being an oglop and a frog at various points was amusing and added a bit of humor to the story

day 18: favorite spin-off, sequel, or remake spin-off: Tactics Advance sequel: XII Revenant Wings remake: IV for the DS yes I did all three

day 17: favorite soundtrack XII, FFTA, and IX are the three that immediately jump to mind though I tend to think more of individual songs I like and less of whole soundtracks usually single favorite is probably XII though (swirly murder bouncy ball is for engagement)

day 16: favorite spell/summon Ultima has always interested me in both how the "ultimate magic" is gated and how it feels when you get it As for summons I love the Ivalice Espers and Zodiark is incredibly cute and deadly (the perfect combination)

day 15: favorite boss fight this was tricky because of how many I like but the final boss of IX, Necron, felt right to me it's less a battle about brute force and more about planning and guile IX having lower numbers across the board was a nice feature (also Grand Cross is horrifying)

day 14: favorite summoner character there are surprisingly few "devoted" summoners but I have a really soft spot for Rydia she was the first one and I think she was a lot of fun to follow and play with

day 13: favorite black mage character it's Vivi was there any doubt great character to use excellent as an actual literal character sums up IX beautifully (looks cute and whimsical, but deeper and darker) honorable mention to Lulu from X

day 12: favorite white mage character Aerith counts right I really like how she balances out being a typical healer with a lot more sass, spunk, and determination (Rosa from IV is second)

day 11: favorite dragoon character Freya Crescent, from FFIX her character is one I really like and I enjoy all of her unique combat tricks (I like a lot of IX's cast tbh)

I started a new-ish project at the end of last year: a rewrite and expanding of an old novella I wrote over a decade ago it's a parody of the "knight rescues princess" storyline I'm currently at 25k words so I'd say it's going pretty well #wrutesky

day 10: favorite job/class while there are a lot I enjoy my recurring favorite is the Ninja stab one person twice, stab two things once...so flexible omg (I am also a weeb) honorable mention to the FFTA/A2 Assassins and the FFVA Necromancer

day 9: favorite battle system discounting the easy answer (the SRPGs) my favorite is honestly XII it was flexible without being too overwhelming and while you could "automate" things trying to get to that point was wildly satisfying (VII is second for me)

day 8: favorite cutscenes sometimes the simple and charming ones hit the spot and Vaan asking Fran how old she is in XII amused me to no end

sometimes you just need to make cookies it's a recipe from my grandmother I haven't made in over a decade

day 7: favorite job system this might be a surprise but I really like the Final Fantasy Tactics Advance system every race and class has quirks and niches and I like the feeling of progression from unlocking the new classes

day 6: worst NPC does Jihl from XIII count here she dies before you can even fight her and is just generic and evil up to then (I know she comes back in XIII-2 but still)

today's #FCF features a Flat Cat blazed out of her mind catnip is one hell of a drug

day 5: favorite villain Kefka has long stuck with me as a favorite I love the contrast between him looking like a clown and him being incredibly evil (there's also something satisfying about a villain who's just evil and needs to be stopped)

day 4: favorite protagonist Zidane from IX has long been my favorite lead; there's something relatable and endearing about his carefree and droll personality (Ramza from Tactics is second, even though they're very different lol)

day 3: worst Final Fantasy I wish it was "least favorite Final Fantasy" because I think that's a far more interesting question lol as far as a mechanical game goes I think II misses the mark most markedly the ideas are interesting but they're executed terribly (my least favorite is VIII btw)
