Happy #caturday, all! Chunk was my first paid cat photography gig. It was originally a free portrait session for the owners dog, won from a drawing, but they wanted their cat photographed as well. This was also my first wall art sale for pet photography!

Seeing a lot of posts lately talking about needing more dog/cat pictures in the feed. And I am here for you. Or rather, Ravi is. Ravi Shankat, my brother’s porch cat. He’s an adult indoor kitty now that makes an appearance on every single family Zoom.

Our crusty old man-cat, Earl, is having a dental cleaning and extraction today. Fingers crossed everything goes well for him. He’s got issues.

Today for my daughter’s birthday, she got KITTENS! They don’t even have proper names yet, but they came to the studio for their first portraits! Gotta take care of the important things first of course.

Poppyseed’s ride-or-die BFF is Cinnamon Swirl (OK Humane Society) and she is the perfect best bud, sticking close to her blind bestie to make sure Poppyseed is always safe. She’s also super irresistible on her own.

Here’s Poppyseed (OK Humane Society) in a solo portrait, behaving for all the world like a sighted kitten, despite her eyes having been surgically removed due to a painful infection. She’s completely normal except for that whole vision thing.

Cinnamon Swirl (l) and Poppyseed (r) are a bonded pair from OK Humane Society. They must be adopted together. Poppyseed’s eyes were surgically removed after a severe eye infection and a lot of pain. Cinnamon is Poppy’s seeing eye cat!!

Just finished the first day of this foster portrait weekend, and I have to say this may be my new favorite cat portrait I’ve taken. Meet Beans, exhibiting an almost perfect upward dog—I mean cat.

My cats have been invited to participate in a cat parade for my cousins other grandmother. Cat parades are cool, generally speaking, but this one is on Zoom. Cats from all over the country will be there!

We’re alive!!! The storm took an abrupt turn to the east & skipped a bit south of us. Spent my cellar time on a video call w/my eldest, & with a glass of wine. Because if you’re going to be stressed anyway, why not?🤷🏻‍♀️This was Earl’s (cat) 1st trip to the shelter and I don’t think he was impressed.

And I can hear the hail just outside the garage door. Getting rather loud.

We have thunder, rain and hail. I’m in the storm cellar with the cats. The dogs are in their storage closet. Husband is still roaming around the house above ground, per usual.

Hm, tornado sirens out of the blue, so to speak.

My client has picked up her artwork so I finally get to share this adorable family portrait! I present to you, Bongo, Mocha, and Apollo!

We were gifted a plecosthemus when our kids decided to no longer maintain their tank. And a deformed cory. The cory bebops all over the tank all day long but the pleco only comes out at night. I was able to get video of this giant. His length is about half the depth of the tank.

I have a client session today, so I’m baking liver dog treats for their dogs to take home with them. This is a recipe I designed; it has no sugar, salt, or preservatives. Still working on an idea for cat client gifts, but those require me to learn how to crochet. It may be a while!

Had a client in the studio this week. This gal actually RESCUED my own dog when she either escaped, or was released from our yard. Whether accidental or with bad intent, our Bonnie had some rough experiences in her almost 2 days out and about. The sweet gal who found her and called us got a free 1/2
