I am delighted & privileged to be appointed as a Professor of Practice by Girijananda Chowdhury University in Guwahati, India as per guidelines of the University Grants Commission of India. Chancellor and Vice Chancellor of the University felicitated me the said university campus this afternoon.

Asiatic Water #Buffalo is an important #species found in Brahmaputra valley of Assam, India. They share same habitat with Greater One Horned #Rhino in #KazirangaNationalPark and #ManasNationalPark.

Always excited to watch activities of mother and her calf #GreaterOneHorned #Rhino in the wild. They communicate with each other well. Mother rhino is always #protective in nature when the calf is around. If an unknown rhino comes close to the calf, the mother rhino immediately takes away the calf.

Yesterday I received Dr. P.E. Kulkarni Oration #Award 2024 from Indian Society for Veterinary Surgery at 47th Annual Congress held at Sankardev Kalakhetra, Guwahati for my contribution in #Wildlife #conservation and #management.

Rhinos are back in #Laokhowa and #Burhachapori Wildlife Sanctuaries in Assam through natural dispersals from #OrangNationalParks. As such orientation to frontline forest teams are crucial. Yesterday I spent a full day helping these two protected areas to enhance #rhino monitoring.
