I finally got out for a decent ride yesterday. It had been a couple of weeks and I noticed rust forming on my studs when I filled up tires. Best spots to bike were the short and infrequent stretches of clear pavement on the road. Not an easy ride but it was a beautiful sunny day. #yegbike

Quite treacherous out there today. Conditions dictate riding on cleared sidewalks and walking the bike across intersections where there is car traffic. I saw lots of foot tracks in places that need to be cleared but few bike tracks. Be careful if you try it. #yegbike

Good bike weather this weekend. Cold but sunny and calm. Toque, neck warmer and ski gloves were required yesterday, but I made it a 25 km round trip to the Highlands neighbourhood to pick up a capo and some pepperoni. There was a detour though Rundle, Gold Bar and Capilano parks. #yegbike.

One more Northeast Edmonton pedestrian/bike/mobility improvement for now. This sidewalk in York used to have a set of stairs in the middle. Now it does not. #yegbike.

More bike and shared infrastructure progress in the Northeast. A couple more blocks of the 132 ave bike lane is completed west of 66 street. New sidewalk to shared trail conversion on the east side of 66th street between 137 ave and 149 ave is nearly complete.

We got a small pedestrian/rolling improvement at the intersection of 66th street and 137 ave. See the old style curb ramp on the west side that puts you into the intersection vs new ones on the east side that aim you into the crosswalk. #yegbike

I was happy to find that a new shared trail has replaced an old dirt desire line on 50th street on the Hollick Kenyon side. Not sure when it was completed but it wasn’t there the last time I took that route. Thank you City of Edmonton. #yegbike.

#yegbike I missed the bus yesterday so without thinking it through I hopped on my second favourite bike and rode it to the LRT station and parked it there all day. It was the only bike there though. Anxiety was high but it was all there in one piece when I got back at 5:30.

Even though she has a choice of 2 nearby dog beds, Raisin thinks the best place to sleep is in the coffee table. #dogs
