Absolutely Baltic at Charleston GC today. Ended up with five layers on, pretty much unable to swing! The joys of winter golf in Scotland 🥶

Enjoying a few days in London around the gig last night. Wildlife photographer of the year yesterday……always worth a visit. British Museum today, got to be honest, struggled a bit! Just not my thing, although I did enjoy seeing the Lewis Chessmen.

A little bit of IQ from Islington Assembly Hall last night. I’ve been incredibly lucky to attend 30 (yes, I know it’s a lot) gigs this year, and IQ were right up there in terms of performance and entertainment. Delighted to say that I have a few tickets purchased for next year already 🤟

Adam Wakeman and Damien Wilson tonight at Backstage in Kinross. Hugely talented but the gig was almost spoiled by a couple of drunks down the front who decided to get involved in the on stage banter! 🙄 And sorry about the quality of the video for this one; a gigantic man was sat in front of me. 🤬

Magnificent performance tonight from Saving Grace at Royal Concert Hall in Glasgow. What a voice Robert Plant has for a man in his late 70s. Mind you, he knows how to get the most out of his voice, working with other great singers. Shout out too to Burr Island, superb support act.

A beautiful sky at Leven Links today. Cracking winter day for golf with no wind, short course and soft greens. Managed to shoot three over par but still not good enough; beaten on the 18th 😢

A little bit of Lindisfarne from last night, at Backstage@GreenHotel. Not necessarily my cup of tea, but tagged along with a buddy. Full house, great atmosphere, talented band.

Disappointing 2-1 defeat today at Arbroath. Didn’t adjust our style enough for the conditions; 40 mph winds. Suspect Arbroath are used to the wind. Apparently Gayfield Park is the closest stadium (to the sea) in the whole of Europe!

Beautiful day at Leven Links yesterday. Blue skies, no wind, reasonable temperature! Hit the ball well, should have been a good score, but couldn’t hole a put. Seven over par.

Great to be back in Leven today after a bit of a break. I’ve had six games of golf cancelled in the last three weeks due to bad weather, either rain or frost. (Not all cancellations at Leven). Anyway, nine over par in a brisk wind, not too bad. And the best bit was a cherry scone from The Troff!

Oh my goodness, exciting news due tomorrow apparently. New Neal Morse Band album, to be released 27th February. No changes to the line up. Did not see that coming!!

The Guitar Heads this afternoon in Kinross. Lead singer not available so I think we got a more “bluesy” set than normal. Sounded pretty good to me though!

An uninspiring photo at the end of an uninspiring game, but a solid 2-0 victory for Thistle at Forfar today. Lovely lunch on the way at the Antique Centre, Abernyte. Only disappointment of the day; the birdies had all sold out by the time we got to Forfar. Was not popular when I got home!

Weather in November has been so sh1t here in Scotland. My last four games of golf all cancelled due to waterlogged course, or frozen greens! My local club are saying that this month is the fifth wettest since they records started over fifteen years ago. 🤬😤

Well, it’s a funny old game. Start of last season, we appeared to have a great squad, lots of depth, with a club legend managing the team. This year the squad looked weak, our top goal scorer had left and the new manager was not highly regarded. And we’ve just gone joint top of the league! #PTFC

Absolutely Baltic tonight at Firhill as Thistle take on Dunfermline. A win takes us into a tie for first, but I fear the game on Saturday took a lot out of the players. Time will tell…..

Amy Mcdonald tonight at City Halls, Newcastle. Great performance and a great atmosphere; mind you, felt like about half the audience were Scottish! Shout out too for the support act, Better Joy. She was superb, definitely one to watch.

Huge game at Firhill today, top of the table clash. Going two up top, sounds good but a bit worried about the midfield. C’mon Thistle!

The Last Dinner Party at Barrowlands in Glasgow last night. High energy! And I’m sure they have many prog rock influences, albeit not many in the audience would know what prog is!

Back at Silloth today for a glorious day of winter sun. Golf poor but I did manage two birdie twos, including the fiendishly tricky ninth…….

Challenging day at beautiful Silloth GC yesterday. Very strong wind but battled to about 12 over par. Basically couldn’t reach a single hole in regulation on the back nine 😱 May well be back here on Monday after our weekend in The Lakes. 🤞

I’m not a huge movie fan, I far prefer live music. But I can’t recommend the new film “I Swear” highly enough. There’s not many films that can make you laugh out loud, but also have tears streaming down your face. It’s released in the UK now, other regions to follow. Go see it!

Australian Pink Floyd tonight at The Usher Hall, Edinburgh. Seriously impressive!

The Queen & The Soldier, my favourite Suzanne Vega song, performed tonight at The Royal Concert Hall, Glasgow. Very enjoyable gig, and Thistle won too!!

When two passions collide! Off to see Suzanne Vega tonight, but a Thistle game has been rearranged so they are playing (about two miles away) at the same time! Disaster. And even worse, I have the same problem coming up on Saturday too 😱🤬 🤟🎶🎸 v’s ⚽️🥅🏟️

Great 1-0 win for The Jags yesterday, hard fought and maybe a touch fortunate. Josh Clark made a couple of saves early on, without those, it could have been a different game. What a fantastic team goal though! From the right back area, thro midfield and left wing, then a glorious volleyed finish!

Loving the new album from The Last Dinner Party. But why does no one ever class them as Prog? All the elements are there! Looking forward to seeing them again next month.
