I have a YA sports romance that I shelved after getting no traction with it. Originally written in 3rd person, I've decided to do a major rewrite, and change it from 3rd person to 1st person. I'm not sure if it's a good idea but I love these characters so much that I'm not ready for them to die yet.

I have to admit that I'm struggling with writing lately. Between the state of the world, a medium-sized medical issue, and my brain still being in the world of my querying book, my creativity has suffered. I'm about halfway through my current WIP but I feel like I haven't gotten anywhere recently.

Did I have a lightbulb moment while I was editing my MS today? Yes. Am I excited by it? Yes. Will it require me to tear some things apart and stitch them back together? Yes. 13 days ago my amazing dog collapsed in the yard. He was diagnosed w/ a spinal cord injury. Neuro said we would know in two weeks if he would walk again, but that it could take months for him to recover, if he did. Y'all, 15 minutes ago, Magnus walked out in the yard w/o us having to carry him! 💙🐾

I wrote half of a chapter today. And I kind of hate it. No, I really do. It's nowhere neat my best writing. But! It's there and can be fixed later. Also, I've had a really shitty week so I'm going to take that half chapter as a serious win.

I'm so tired. I was feeling good with our protest on Saturday and the in-person hecklers leaving w/ their tails between their legs. But now it's Monday & every news report online has so many people spewing such hate. Trolls, bots, cult members, call them what you want but the hate is so tiring.
