I present three maps of Titan: one in visible "true" colors (albedo scaled and gamma corrected), one in enhanced colors (linear albedo scale with a factor of five), and one of the lakes. In this thread, I will briefly describe how the impenetrable haze was bypassed.

Ganymede in 1979 from Voyager 2 (mosaic) true color, processed from the raw data using @askaniy.bsky.social's TrueColorTools I used 9 OGBV frames for this processing. the edge of the disk is slightly cut off, so a small rendered view was inserted and spliced in. manual processing took ~3.5 hours 🧪🔭

Ariel, moon of Uranus - January 24th, 1986 from NASA's Voyager 2 spacecraft 🔭 This view is close to true color and brightness as the human eye would see it (yep, Ariel is gray...) This view was made from a composite of green, clear, and violet frames, and calibrated against published spectral data.

Daily Phase Curve DAY 34! 🪐 KELT-14/WASP-122 b (TESS) oops i forgot to do one yesterday Large eclipse, some nice reflection, and probably some ellipsoidal effect as well. Like with the last one I posted, I strongly suspect the asymmetry is probably just bad detrending and not real.

Daily Phase Curve DAY 33! 🪐 WASP-72 b (TESS) Here we have a Hot Jupiter with a strong ellipsoidal distortion signal. There also seems to be doppler boosting here too, although I suspect this effect is not real and is due to limitations in my data detrending :/. The eclipse is large, about ~113 ppm.

Daily Phase Curve DAY 32! 🪐 KELT-16 b (TESS) This ultra-short-period Hot Jupiter is one of the few known HJs with a <1d period. The phase curve amplitude and eclipse are large, about 500ppm. Interestingly, I don't see the previously reported ellipsoidal effect with extended mission data.

Daily Phase Curve DAY 31! 🪐 K2-237 b (Kepler) This K2 Hot Jupiter has one of the largest eclipses of any K2 planet, so it was a surprise when I found that the eclipse of this planet had not been published anywhere! The strong stellar variability makes it impossible to detect the phase curve though.

Daily Phase Curve DAY 30! 🪐 WASP-92 b (TESS) Wong et al. (2021) were unable to confidently detect the phase curve or secondary eclipse of this planet. With the added Sector 51 data, it's not much better - there's a tentative 180ppm eclipse at phase 0.52 w/2-sigma significance, but no phase curve.

Daily Phase Curve DAY 29! 🪐 KELT-1 b (TESS) This phase curve is made from ONLY Sector 57 data (as opposed to the earlier Sector 17). First identified by Parviainen et al., the lack of secondary eclipse here compared to the reflective atmosphere seen in Sector 17 points to atmospheric variability.

Daily Phase Curve DAY 28! 🪐 K2-31 b (Kepler) This grazing Hot Jupiter has the largest phase curve out of all of the planets observed by K2. This phase curve contains clear EVs and a tiny bit of reflection, corresponding to an ultra-dark atmosphere with an albedo of 0.02.

Neptune - August 17th, 1989 from NASA's Voyager 2 spacecraft. 🔭 This color view was composed from three views taken in orange, green, and blue filters, and was specially processed by me against spectral data to represent the true color of Neptune as it would appear to human eyes.

Daily Phase Curve DAY 27! 🪐 TOI-1444 b (TESS) This hot super-earth is in a near-CVZ system which means the amount of lightcurve data for this target is really large! Even then, correlated noise prevents us from detecting the eclipse securely, but the phase variation is nicely detected!

Daily Phase Curve DAY 26! 🪐 HATS-9 b (Kepler) Nice EVs, and a little bit of reflection. What's interesting about a lot of the K2 phase curves is that often the data volume isn't large enough to detect the secondary eclipse, but the quality is still good enough to detect the actual phase variation.

Daily Phase Curve DAY 25! 🪐 WASP-100 b (TESS) This is the only WASP system in a TESS CVZ (i think). Even still, unfortunately due to residual systematics, I can't detect the phase curve. The eclipse depth (~70ppm) I find is much smaller than the published ones - probably my data processing is bad.

Daily Phase Curve DAY 24! 🪐 Qatar-2 b (Kepler) This nice phase curve really shows off the quality of the K2 data. Yes, TESS is nice, but Kepler.... no comparison. Very nice ellipsoidal signal and a hint of reflection suggesting a very low albedo. If only K2 had more time.....

Daily Phase Curve DAY 23! 🪐 WASP-121 b (TESS) This was one of the very first phase curves from TESS data to be published. Look at where we are now! - TESS has given us lovely phase curves for dozens of planets. There's non-negligible nightside emission too, in contrast with other hot Jupiters.

Daily Phase Curve DAY 22! 🪐 TOI-2337 b (TESS) Lots of EVs here in this nice TESS CVZ system. The host star is a puffy giant so it's easy for a "normal" hot Jupiter to be able to distort the star. No eclipse detected using the extended mission data, in conflict with previous studies (Grunblatt 2022)

Daily Phase Curve DAY 21! 🪐 WASP-18 b (TESS) Daily Phase Curve is back! Sorry for not being able to post these past few days, I've been quite busy :(. Really nice ellipsoidal and reflected signal here. The phase curve's also present in the CHEOPS data but I'm still working on reducing that dataset.
