Filming me throwing agateware makes me look like an awful potter. I use 2 clays that are different hardnesses, so the pieces go off center every move, and create more thin and thick spots. Hitting my butter crocks with a hammer, but not to break them. I have to give each of them a tap after I fire them together. This process minimizes warping of the rim. A little bit of shock with a wooden hammer is enough to get them seperated though. #pottery #agateware #buttercrock #ceramics #art
