This article is exactly why so many of us were outraged at EnvisionWare for bringing their AI-brarian demo model to ALA 2025. Ethical complications notwithstanding, you bring something into our house that is designed to replace us and we’re gonna get real mad.

We held a community art project today at the library. Patrons of all ages chose from a rainbow of cups of paint & decorated by pouring, using their hands (or feet in the case of one toddler), and with brushes. I love the result!! (amazing 9ft canvas roll from @blickartmaterials.bsky.social )

I must say, I think I was surprisingly reasonable at #alaac25: 7 signed and 11 unsigned titles that will become summer reading prizes, 7 ARCs for our eager young readers to preview, and 6 titles that will go straight into the collection.
