SLU's Carlos Leatherman said he was throwing up before the second OT because of too big a pregame meal and too much pickle juice before the first OT to fight off cramps. Then 3:50 into the second OT, he put the ball in the box for Jack DiMaria to knock in to give SLU the win

A big upset in D2 women's soccer tournament, as 8th seeded Cedarville beats top-seed Grand Valley State on PKs, so Maryville, the No. 4 seed, will face Cedarville on Saturday in Allendale, Mich.

The closest Eastern Conference opponent on the schedule is Charlotte, a 715-mile drive. On the other hand, New York, Toronto and Washington are all nice places to visit. www.stltoday.com/sports/profe...

City SC's six Eastern Conference opponents finished 4th, 5th, 10th, 11th, 12th and 15th last season in the East. DC United was last overall, Toronto 25th and New England 23rd. (City SC was 24th, so those teams might be seeing playing City SC as a good thing too.)

The SKC game at Energizer Park on July 16 is part of a group of rivalry games the league has scheduled in the days before the World Cup final on July 19, presumably to show off enthusiasm to the rest of the world. STL-KC, MON-TOR, SEA-PORT, NASH-ATL, El Trafico.

City SC will make one less West Coast trip in 2026. They play at Vancouver on Sept. 5 and at Portland on Sept. 9, so they get two West Coast games on one trip.

Also, Chicago not on City SC schedule this year. Eastern Conference teams are Charlotte, New England, NYCFC, DC United, Toronto, NY Red Bulls. First meeting ever against Red Bulls, and both NY games are on the road, so first trip to NYC for City.
