LR this is why the Sonic movies have been overall successful, it’s diverged from the games BUT respect has been given towards the material. that alone can make or break a video game adaptation, and why there’s been such a rough history of video game movies in particular.

Y'know, I sat here pondering why my feelings for Witcher's director's insistence that diverging from the books/games is bad when I didn't feel that way about Amazon's Wheel of Time divergences. I think it comes down to reception; if you diverge, someone has to *want what you produced instead*.

It feels like people are seeking out negativity rather than just... enjoying what they do like. I genuinely don't wanna be around people who act like this anymore
