July 24, 2024 was the date that cemented the Oilers demise.

We are deeply saddened to hear about the passing of our good friend Bruce McCurdy. We were so fortunate to have him join us and share his insight on a weekly basis with Lowetide. Our condolences to his family, friends, and everyone who loved his work.

The final post from one of the nicest people you'd ever have the opportunity to meet and talk hockey with. Could debate and discuss without it ever getting nasty/personal. Terrible news to get this AM about his passing. RIP Bruce. Condolences to @kmccurdy.bsky.social and the entire McCurdy family.

I don't post that often but I have a happy story to share to lighten up your timeline. Last year my 14 year old son Isaiah, decided that he was going to play hockey this year. Isaiah was never interested in hockey because that was his older brother's sport. Isaiah was a basketball player.

Due to a database load issue we are 36 games behind but will be fixed by tomorrow.
