anger and fear sell. creation relative to anger and fear is extremely high effort and high agency. this is why every radical political position can convince millions of people to be angry and afraid but can't convince more than 1% of them to create anything.

short-form content feeds are just an infinite singular video with extremely choppy, random editing, and algorithms tend to make the video styles and topics converge to a fairly limited pool. YouTube Shorts Feed/TikTok's For You Feed are basically just YouTube Poop with an algo.

straight up a society where your bed is connecting to the cloud and has “disrupted features” when there is a cloud outage is a failing and broken society. this is rampant consumerism to the point of societal death.

very few localities are directly downstream of discourse. touching grass and talking to normal people makes you realize that 99% of people in your community are 5-10 years behind what is going on. they're more directly downstream of the effects of tech and politics, but not the information

I find it extremely interesting (positive) that it seems like GLP-1's are going to serve as the gateway drug for us to culturally become comfortable with biohacking at large. I thought it was going to be testosterone or some other PED/hormonal supplement, but this is significantly better

download NextDoor. this is not an advertisement for the app. you need to take a good look around at the society that's around you, and most of you will not go and touch grass to see it for yourself. you would be shocked at just how behind the average person is on media literacy, tech literacy, etc

broke: trolling is making the internet worse and is ruining discourse woke: trolling is a form of discourse and is often a very fair response to conversations that deserve very little more than ridicule and disinterest reminder: not every topic of conversation is deserving of debate or air time.

there's a direct lineage that can be drawn from: YouTube Poop, to The Lazar Collection/Stick Figures on Crack, to Short form Vine and early TikTok memes, to Channer and TPOT meme culture, to neo-YTP/neo-Dadaist Zoomer memes like Italian Brain Rot and Skibidi Toilet and that lineage is important.

it really is incredible how intuitive Blender is as a software. I am functionally a 3D modeling idiot when it comes to Blender and I was able to whip up this planter model for a game I'm working on in less than 10 minutes. it's basic but even just to get something super simple done, it was v fast.

in times when everything feels like an emergency, it's even more important than before to slow down and act with intention. new worlds are built in years, decades and generations with daily intentional action. empires are destroyed very slowly, and then all at once

Depending on technological limitations to ensure a high trust society (ie. before AI there wasn’t as much rampant disinformation as there is now, but AI made it exceedingly easy) was always a failing strategy.

LLM's for use in coding contexts are significantly better if you tell them exactly what it is you want them to do. they are not nearly as good if you're trying to tell them to do something you don't really understand.

when fighting as insurgent forces, you cannot launch all of your operations from the middle of enemy territory. this is the battleground. you have to create enclaves, safe places, to fight from a position of strength, to retreat to and to gather forces to.

you have to wonder just how innovative and industrious the US economy is when the primary weapon they use in the global market is less "innovation" and more "we will use the power of the USD as a global currency to bludgeon you to death while we whine about how unfair your trade practices are"

re-skinned ScrollWise to use a sidebar and I like the UI/UX a lot more, even in its currently vibe-designed form. you can now add/remove tweets and posts from the sidebar that are relevant to the prompt and automatically inject that content into your prompt. still aiming for a mid-November launch!
