how does Google do as much design and UI/UX work but the UI/UX and design of their core product dashboards are absolutely garbage?

I feel like my 30s are going to be dope because I’ll have all/most of the energy of my 20s but way more experience and intelligence to execute better and work smarter.

in a few months it will have been 10 years since my wife and I fell in love while drinking hunch punch out of the bathtub of a college dorm. we met when we were 19. we have a house, two kids, three dogs and a cat now. she has her doctorate. life comes at you fast

we can do better than the people we have ruling over us. we just have to fight against the barriers they've put in front of us to make us believe we can't.

one of the prevailing myths is that we cannot rule ourselves, that we can elect leaders to do it for us, and that it's just a matter of how we elect them and how they rule us and what rules they abide by in doing so. that myth needs to be broken if we're to move forward

instead of AI only being used to mine data and maximize profit for ad-selling social media companies, it should be available for everyone who uses the internet to make their information ecosystem cleaner. this is at the core of a lot of the features I have planned for ScrollWise AI

politicians are stealing your future from you and selling it to send bombs to Israel and prisons across the country you have so much potential, your life could be so much more, but they are stealing it from you and you should be furious

you do not need to build more tech that hurts kids, destroys the attention span of the human race and destroys our ability to share a consensus reality you do need to build technology that counters all of that

AI should benefit the users of the internet, not just the corporations that hold the power. this is at the core of why I'm building ScrollWise AI

anti-humanists are beating progressives at the game of "absolute psycho geniuses who are willing to do and build absolute psycho things to achieve objectives" there are 1000s of people trying to build prison camps, there needs to be 100,000s of people trying to build <redacted> to counter that.

I've become fully convinced that the only way out of the doom spiral is that people have to become absolutely obsessed with an idea that they think can realistically move the needle in a positive direction and they have to be borderline insane in their drive to make it happen

going full on schizo technoprogressive marketing mode over the next few weeks two main reasons: - I think hope is what people need right now, more than anything - I think I'm building something that can actually make a meaningful difference if not, I'll at least know I tried.

the way Twitter and Reddit are implementing AI into their products is designed to make the sites more profitable for them and crappier for you ScrollWise AI is going to change that. because we deserve it.

Using AI for code outside of Good Autocomplete and Boilerplate Generator has significantly diminishing returns. Using AI for knowledge synthesis and getting up to speed on complex topics before diving deeper is significantly more powerful.

major progress with ScrollWise: in one button press, you can enrich a prompt with posts from BlueSky and Twitter that were scraped from your browser. this is a major power-up for ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini. you can sign up for updates on the upcoming launch and learn more below:

when I made this post I didn't realize I was going to end up needing Tor just to be able to post to BlueSky, but thanks to the Mississippi state government, now it's even more important to develop and support forceful technology

do not listen to people who are panicking. listen to people who are calmly preparing. panickers will only lead you into chaos, those who are calm will be able to think. this is why I listen to

when you declare the legal opposition illegal, when you make normal opposition terrorist activity, what do you think that leaves in terms of tactics and strategies for opposition?

“Under no pretext should arms and ammunition be surrendered; any attempt to disarm the workers must be frustrated, by force if necessary” this is one of my favorite quotes to toss at right wing family members because their jaw drops when they find out who wrote it

the jimmy kimmel situation is honestly up there with the Kirk shooting itself in terms of being a glaring red warning sign that we are headed for an incredibly dark direction. I say this as someone who can't stand late night TV talk shows in general

we kept a bunch of Korean workers in a concentration camp and a couple of them had significant medical issues and were taunted with racial epithets. they were all here legally. people keep disappearing from the camps. we've confirmed that some of them have died it's happening right in front of us

learning how to shoot a gun is significantly less important than: - learning about operational security - learning first aid/using an IFAK - a stop the bleed course - becoming physically fit enough to run, hide and fight in various scenarios - learning how to communicate and work with a team

do not buy a gun. buy an IFAK and a stop the bleed course. I'm trying to find one in person where I'm at, but at bare minimum you can take one for $30 on Red Cross' site. IFAK's are like $120-$200 from what I'm seeing, cheaper if you make your own. you will not find a gun for that price.

free speech only matters to those who are not in power once you capture power, it becomes unimportant or outright deleterious, especially if you have a loud opposition that you need quieted

I have never in my life seen so many people radicalized so quickly as I did last week after Kirk was killed the combination of who was killed and the fact that the video was broadcasted to millions yanked so many people so much further right so fast, it's like cultural/political whiplash

I'm having to access the site via Tor browser because Mississippi instituted age verification requirements for social media apps which meant that BSky has to block Mississippians from using it so I've been on it a good bit less

I remember a couple years back, any time people would say "what about a military coup, what about using LEO's and militias to suspend democracy in the US" the answer was always "there won't be enough bad people in those orgs to do anything meaningful" seems like that was overly optimistic.

the Answers to Today's Problems are going to come from some incredibly weird places, imho. like the Answer to Trump is very obviously not going to come from institutions, the DNC, the UN, the EU, etc. more likely to come from a couple different groups of internet weirdos, imho

it does not matter if something is unconstitutional or if soldiers swear an oath to the constitution oaths are pinky promises. upholding the constitution is a pinky promise the institutions will not enforce any of that shit, all that matters is material reality now.
