The doll is struggling to stay awake. But then the witch reassures it. It's okay for it to go to sleep. That she will be there while it sleeps - and, more so than that - That her thoughts will follow it into its dreams.

And the witch, she's silhouetted by the neon lights of the city at night. Dancing to a tune that only she can hear, a smile upon her face. And the doll... It watches her, enthralled by her image, by her joy.

A service doll! But aren't all dolls service dolls? This isn't necessarily wrong! This one, in particular, is trained to sense when its witch is about to have a seizure!

A witch without a doll. It's been a long time since she's shared her life with one. But the other witch that she's dating... They have a doll. ...

And the witch, she smells of smoke. Not tobacco. The smoke of a wood fired campfire. The doll wonders why! And the witch, she offers to take it along next time. The doll agrees!

A doll and a witch on another planet! They're pioneering together! Seeing which planets are suitable for colonization! They've seen so much of nature that so many will never see! Barren planets, frozen planets, planets devoid of life, and planets lush with it!

The witch reaches out to the moon. She and her doll had wanted to go together. But... That was never going to happen. Can't have asthma if you want to be an astronaut. And, well... Her doll refused to leave her behind.

The witch looks down upon the doll. It's... somewhat awake. She knocked on its door, and it told her to come in. But it's still in bed. Probably just on the edge between wakefulness and sleep. ...

"I miss you." So the witch reads a message from her doll. Short. To the point. But carrying so much in its stride. "I miss you too." So the witch sends a message back. A moment passes. "<3" The witch smiles at the doll's message. "<3" And sends one in return.

And so the witch yearns for the company of their doll. But they don't call its cellphone. No, not yet. It's out doing errands. Doing so much for their sake. They hesitate, balking at the notion of bothering it when it's already acting on their behalf.

A doll that wields a sacred sword. What about it makes it so sacred? Its witch sacrificed her life to make it. ... But that's not to say that it has lost its witch. No, its witch merely slumbers within the sword.

S:"Shit shit shit, I'm recalling you right now." L:"Understood. Returning to base." S:"That won't be fast enough, I'm ditching the suit, warping you back." L:"Have faith in this one, Sir." S:"I do have faith in you, I just-" Static. S:"Leo?" It's... Gone. S:"Leo?"

A witch and a doll. They sit together on a park bench. The witch sits with her eyes closed. The doll's eyes, on the other hand, wander around. Focusing on whatever draws its attention.

A witch that lost a spellcasting competition by only a few moments. She had the victory in her grasp. If only she hadn't added one last sentence to her spell, she would have won handily.

"Dolly!" so the witch calls out to her doll. "Yes Miss?" so the doll responds to its witch. "I love you. I cherish you. You're important to me. I adore you. I'm so lucky to know you, to have you be a part of my life." "I love you with all my heart, my darling dolly."

A doll. A doll that tries its very best to be strong for its witch. A doll shouldered with a lot of responsibility. A doll that others don't like for "its power".

"A toast!" The witch raises her glass! And so does the doll! And so does everyone else! "To my doll!" The doll lowers its glass a little, suddenly really flustered and on the spot!

"Are you okay?" asks the doll of its witch. And he... takes a moment to respond. ... Another moment. ... A third moment. ... "I'm... Not sure," so he responds to his doll.

And so the witch closes his eyes. And beckons his doll to him. And so the doll obeys. And so he takes it into his arms. A tight, warm hug. And so the doll nuzzles its face into his chest. And so he brushes out its hair with his hand. A smile on both of their faces.

A witch that sits in a chair with a notebook in hand. "Hmmm," she thinks to herself, "What should I try writing for today?" She casts her eyes across everything in the room, searching for inspiration. A story can come from anywhere, and anything could inspire a story!

A witch. And her doll... It's asleep. Today was difficult. Unkind. All they could do was their best. And their best was not enough. But, at least to the witch... She's proud of herself and her doll. Maybe tomorrow will be kinder.

A witch and his doll. The witch closes his eyes and allows the doll to lead him. Or, rather, maybe "allow" isn't the right word. "Request" might be the better one. And the doll takes his hand... Hesitates a moment. Then hugs him close, a hand on his shoulder, to guide him.

A doll that sends its witch a voice message. "This one loves Sir. So so much." A short message. But one that would help bear him through the possible future. A future where his doll might not be there for him anymore.

A witch dealing with a stressful situation. Stressful enough to make her sick. Her dolls... Don't know anything yet. But they will know in time. She was never one to keep stressful things from her dolls, after all. ...

And so the witch raised up her hand and snapped her fingers. And, all at once, they were submerged in darkness. ... But not complete darkness. Rather, the stars... They're much more visible out here than in civilization. This is what she wanted to show her doll.

A doll with a sister doll! They were made together! The people they used to be... Weren't sisters! But they may as well have been.

The doll sits at the park bench. Its witch... Is riding the swing set! Higher! Even higher! Still higher! And, at the highest point, she jumps! And, with a laughing gasp, she lands!

A doll that wakes up early! It turns off its alarm and tries to rouse itself! But the bed is just... so warm and cosy and... No! It can't fall back asleep! It has work to do!

A doll in silence. Today had been... Loud. And now... It sits in a quiet space. ... It's... Soothing. ... It closes its eyes. It takes a deep breath. And sighs. And so. In silence, it sits.

A witch working on a longer story. It started out with a story that she wasn't sure that she should write... But wrote anyway. A painful story. About a doll being abused by its witch. Because, inevitably, there are still bad witches in the world.

A doll that is stressed. It agreed to go on an outing some six or so months from now! It's going to a theme park! But why is it stressed? It's a multi day excursion away from home. It's always stressful when it's away from home, no matter what it's doing.

A witch that messages her doll! What is it doing, she asks! Scrolling through social media, it answers. Again. "Why are you doing that to yourself," the witch asks. "You know how it affects your mental state." The doll pauses before responding. It muses to itself.

"Do you realize how beautiful you are?" The doll stops its work, turning to its witch. A little blush. "What makes you say that, Sir?" He sits at his desk, still turned in his chair to look at his doll.

A witch that shows her client their past, present, and future. The little things that went unnoticed. Always feeling a little down when separated out into groups of boys and girls. Always yearning for things that belonged to the opposite "gender".

A witch waiting for his doll. Some few years ago, it said that it would be back - but it didn't know when. And the witch... He said okay. He cast upon it a traveler's charm, one that would guard it from the worst of the ills of the road. And it's been... Years since. ...

"Miss?" "Yes, my doll?" "Would you like to spend some time?" The witch doesn't respond right away. Rather, she goes and finishes up her tasks and meetings for the day. Bids farewell to the friends she was chatting with. And then -

A doll. And wouldn't you know it. But, oh, the stories it has to tell. Nothing that you can fathom at first glance. So much can be assumed just by the fact that it is a doll. But, oh, how much cannot be known from just that fact alone.

A witch dreaming about writing stories. She expressly took the time to take out a piece of paper and write down her story as opposed to just watching it happen! ... But she's dreaming!

The witch doesn't give any commands or orders. That's something for her head doll to do. Of course sometimes she does try directing her dolls... But she isn't too good at that. She just loves laughing with them, listening to them, talking with them...

A doll that opened a discord server! It's so exciting! So many entities joined at once! So many names it recognizes! So many that support it! So much proof of the impact that its had on other entities' lives. And now it gets to interact with them directly!

Her doll stands in defense of her. And she, with all her world rending power... She stands behind her doll. She allows it to protect her. Even though, in comparison, her doll must seem as fragile as a flower. But it doesn't hesitate. It never has. ...

A witch reading through her old stories. Every once in while, she stumbles across something... Something great. Something that she can't believe that she wrote. ... She closes her eyes and sits back in her chair. Something well and truly great. ...

A doll that practices playing the piano! Or, well, it... admittedly, isn't really practicing. It can't read music, and it's never learned the proper hand placements... Really, all it knows how to do are four chords and messing around with the sharps and flats. But... But...!

A doll and a witch. Together they sit on the balcony, watching the cars drive by. They have this weekend to themselves. But, by the end of it, they'll both go back to work. Then they'll only have the nights with each other again.

Magic, huh... What about it? It's just another skill isn't it? Something... Surreal at first, when you barely know it. But, once you get used to it... It becomes... Less, doesn't it? Magical once you begin. But mundane as you get used to it. ...

Death of the author. More than just a literary theory, an approach to deciphering the meaning of a work... This one wonders what will happen to its works once it passes on.

A doll and a witch in a hot spring! A nice, long soak! Of course they can't stay in for too long or they might pass out! But gods does the hot water do wonders for their nerves. Closed eyes, sunk up to their necks in the warmth... Bliss.

A dreaming doll. It mumbles in its sleep, almost enough to be having an entire conversation all by itself! Its witch listens intently, not quite sure what it's saying. In time, its mumbling slows and eventually stops. Its witch having understood none of it!

A witch responding to messages! Gratitude for her work. ... It's... Surreal. ... To think that there would come a day when entities would go out of their way to send a message of gratitude for something she wrote. ... It's... Truly so surreal.

"Cheers, mates." The patron lifts his glass to the witch and doll sitting next to them. "Cheers to you too." "Cheers!" The doll and witch raise their glasses in return!
