Since #writing For the Love of Block Island, the first attempt at a novel in 2021, I find it difficult to write short stories now. My plots are more expansive. Anyone else?

Changes/edits to chapters 4 and 5 in Painting Ghosts in the Goldilocks Zone. Added a scene to chapter 4 thereby having to change chapter 5. This is how I work. The changes continue to improve the overall story.

Anyone ever wake up in the middle of the night and your characters start talking to you and no matter what you do, you can't quiet them down?

I just went through the new Random Acts, having downloaded the KU version last night. Looks much better without all the annoying typos. And the stories flow better than I remember.

Need to stop for a while. Over 700 words in chapter 5 and if you count what I did to fix chapter 4 I probably wrote my thousand words today. Need to pull my eyes away from my screen.

Oh the trials and tribulations of being a pantser I wound up making another change to chapter 4 and that meant going back and forth making sure everything makes sense. Still wouldn’t want to write any other way.

I'm getting very little #writing engagement on Facebook anymore. Most of my engagement now comes from Bluesky and Threads. I've tried to build a writing community on Facebook but it doesn't seem to be working. I will likely be spending more time here and on Threads from here on.

Anyone see the movie Past Lives? I just watched it. It’s a sweet little film about two Korean kids who are separated when one family immigrates. The kids find each other years later and chat over the internet. They lose touch again. Highly recommend it.

So, tomorrow I plan on #writing more of Painting Ghosts… Onto Chapter Four.

Instead of #writing Painting Ghosts in the Goldilocks Zone today, I’ve been editing old short stories. Thinking I may like to have another short story collection out at some point.

With an impending snowstorm hitting Connecticut tomorrow it looks like I will have a week off from work. I’m already taking Wednesday through next Monday off. That hopefully means lots of #writing and #editing.
