Uncle Neil just cancelled his European tour this summer! I had tickets for Cork too.

Today's the day. The start of another league of Ireland season following the Bit o Red. The only guarantee is it will be an emotional rollercoaster .

A night of Galway legends at the town hall theatre 30th birthday bash tonight. The Whileaways plus guests , Padraig Stevens, leo Moran, Rita Ann Higgins, and Mary Coughlin. And not one , but two Presidents! It lifted the spirits.

I put it on and I'm 20 again !

Finally finished this build for junior. A hand wired modded version of a 60s deluxe reverb . Sounds great.

A President from Shantalla! A working class area very like where I was born and bred. Pity we now lose her as a T.D. Hope it's what she wants it to be and doesn't regret the sacrifice of ordinary life.

Just Wow! One of the best gigs I've been to. Gillian Welch and David Rawlings , helped by a fine double bass, no wedges, In ears, pedals, light show or video walls! Just fine songs, harmonies, and guitar playing. Very special.

Wow , what a gig tonight , Declan O Rourke with Steve Wickham celebrating 20 yrs of Since Kyabram. Fantastic. And a nice mention too by Declan of the late great Tim Martin who recorded it. A proper old school engineer and great craic too.

So this fine book arrived today , I'm sitting in front of the first fire of the season flicking through it.

Things I learnt at a very enjoyable Irish wedding this weekend. 1 the catholic church now offers gluten free communion on request. 2 People are still willing to sit on a dancefloor en masse and"Rock the boat" .

Nice trip to the Kingdom so far.

This lovely old thing has come from some TLC. A 1965 "blackface" super reverb 4 x 10. It has " that" sound . Not bad for 60yr old technology
