Finally worked up the strength to watch the John Candy documentary I Like Me, and only a few words into Dan Aykroyd’s eulogy I was already a mess. Heaven help me make it all the way through this. 😭

A few days ago I added the final fish to my community tank—a pair of Neon gobies (Stiphodon species). The shopkeeper said their colors will intensify as they settle in and grow, and I’ve already noticed a big change in just five days. I love their little Kermit-the-Frog faces.

While doing a headcount of my sparkling gourami, I actually caught a pair mating. These little guys are so secretive that it felt like stumbling into a nature documentary moment in my guest room. Blows my mind how much fascinating behavior happens in an aquarium if you just slow down and watch.

Meet my five new Red Neon Blue-Eye Rainbowfish! I'm hoping their colors really pop once they settle in. Since they're sexually dimorphic, the females won't be as flashy as the males—but they're all still pretty great. #plantedtank #fish #aquarium #pets
