Somehow, one branch of my hydrangea decided to create a blossom at the very end of the season. The white flowers always appear in the spring and early summer, then darken to green then pink. But in this completely pink hydrangea is one beautiful white flower. Symbolism..it's never to late to bloom?

I would love to sleep, but the lightning has been like a strobe for HOURS. Thunder non stop. The walls are rattling. 5 inches of rain have fallen here... Over 8 inches near my aunts house. I don't even want to think about how much property damage people are bound to have with backed up basements 😩

Delighted to be the recipient of two 2nd place ribbons at the Wisconsin State Fair! The winners were savory beet and apple pie with herbed goat cheese and a hot water crust pastry, and my construction cone theme pie (their category!) was a cookie crust, w/layered triple orange moose, vanilla mousse

My son attends a PUBLIC high school. The registration fee, course fees (every class has a fee), Chromebook insurance, yearbook, school photos (the most basic package), and adding $50 to his meal account to start adds up to $313.00. He doesn't do a sport but if he did those fees start at $100 each.

Unpopular opinion perhaps? I think "summer assignments" for high school AP classes are lame. No one does them with any enthusiasm. They're just drudgery to "get done" as quickly as possible. And if they're going to assign summer work isn't one project enough?

Quick road trip to visit cousins... And when passing through Waupaca County it's absolutely necessary to stop for the best cheese curds in Wisconsin. Union Star Cheese Factory in Fremont is THE BEST. These were just made so they're room temperature and squeaky!

Finally finished this quilt I've been working on for ages! It was a shabby chic design called "Shabby Chenille" (with irregularly placed vintage chenille squares).
