Face it—Beyoncé winning a country award isn’t the problem. The real issue is that some of y’all think country music = whiteness, and a Black woman succeeding in that space shatters the illusion. Just admit you’re mad she won in a system designed to keep her out and move on.

White folks: “Country music is for everyone!” Also white folks: screaming, crying, throwing up because a Black woman won a country award. Y’all aren’t mad at Beyoncé—you’re mad that a Black woman dared to step into a space you think should only belong to you.

The “country music isn’t for Beyoncé” crowd is giving “Whites Only Water Fountain” energy, and I need more of y’all to call this what it is.

On Monday, a 43-year-old Summit Co. Sheriff's Deputy, who was working as a Juvenile Detention Officer for Summit Co. Juvenile Court, died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound after fatally shooting his 41-year-old girlfriend in her Stow home. The couple had reportedly been dating over a year.

Without much notice or the opportunity for community discussion, Canton City Council will be voting tonight, Jan. 27th, on a proposal to lease space near Centennial Plaza to serve as an additional "downtown police substation." Police Headquarters is located just four blocks from Centennial Plaza.

I wonder how the Back The Blue folks feel about the new admin pardoning 1500 people who literally assaulted officers guarding the Capitol. Doesn't seem like a very law and order sort of thing does it?
