While we are seeing corporations and governments push for more sweeping censorship - it is important to point out that making concessions in the hope that they eventually stop or that they ask to compromise is not the way to go. They will not, they will take every inch you give to sprint a mile.

I've seen people talk about not liking the content that would be banned (non-con, mentions of harm to fictional characters, discussions of mental illness, etc). There are already ways to avoid it without acquiescing to these policies! There is no reason to go after fictional art like this.

I somehow doubt the 'all characters are consenting adults' disclaimer would suffice either. How do you -determine- consent in fictional drawings? Do you go by what the artist says? If not, isn't that a little bit weird to decide for an artist if their characters are sufficiently consenting or not?

A quick little thing I whipped up to help raise awareness about the situation with payment processors. I still can't sell any of my games, and my services themselves, through the largest payment processors around. I am not the only one, either, we need to keep the pressure up!

It is just more evidence this is all about control and power; control over people's lives and the power to enforce their will on everyone. They should not, and cannot, get away with it - nor should any compromise be made with them in the hope that they back down - we must push fully.

Agree, people should not get mad at the single game being called out or Itch. I've seen some folks try to blame the devs of the game that 'collective shout' called out - but this just gives ground to the payment processors and this group. They were in the wrong and we need to push back.

I haven't been particularly active here (its was far easier to just use dev logs and Discord to make announcements). However the recent blitz of anti-NSFW stuff has kind of effected others and myself in quite negative ways. I rely on game-income, as do many others - we have to be loud!
