In partnership with local authorities in West Ireland, we’ve completed our 8th modelling study to identify potential safe corridors for #lesserhorseshoebats to fly between roosts+ feeding areas. Part of the 1st #SpeciesActionPlan in Ireland for the species, we hope it will help safeguard its future.

Last week, we wrapped up our annual hibernation counts across VWT bat reserves in County Kerry! Due to Kerry’s typically mild winters, some lesser horseshoe bats remain within our buildings throughout the winter. We're happy to report we counted 1,031 snug, sleepy LHS bats! 💤🦇

A huge thank you to our Kerry volunteers who joined us last week for our volunteer get-together! We had a fantastic time looking back at our 2024 successes and outlined our aims for 2025. Here’s to another great year of bat monitoring! 🦇
