I made the decision to re-make Nova's attack artwork. Hers was the first one I made and honestly it never felt great for me. Since making Attack art for all the other characters and noticing the trends in how I was putting newer art together, I just had to apply that to the best girl ever. Worth it.

I added so much today I lost track. Safe angle bias system, re-did a special move, added sfx to my menus, overhauled the space level with a entierly new mechanic I won't spoil. Made a shader for said mechanic. Fixed my CPU battle randomiser and added some cheeky UI for said scene. Its 3am. I'm beat

Added a subtle safe angle bias to Bumper Bout. After watching people play the demo i saw self owns werent fun. This new script nudges rebounds that would zip straight back into your own drain so they don't. The goal isn’t to save players, just to make their input feel fair and keep things fun.

Had a great time demoing Bumper Bout at @supanovaexpo.bsky.social Gold Coast this weekend. This was the first test of the new core systems and it couldn't have gone better. I was fortunate enough to be awarded game of the show at the end of it as well. Humbled and inspired to do more. #indiedev

In making the attack pose for Redjack, I'm noticing through experience I'm making different choices about proportion and shading which is leading to a slight style shift. So the flipper anti-stalling mechanic for Bumper Bout that took off on Reddit the other day inspired me to make some changes. Visually it looks more like overheating and a negative build up now, but also there's a slight delay so flipper mashers aren't punished. #indiedev #gamedev #indiegame

I recently added a stall timer to prevent one player soft-locking the game. If a player decides to literally not play ball and holds on for too long, their flipper overheats and it takes a while to recover. #gamedev #indiedev

I've made the decision to delay the March PC launch of Bumper Bout to align with the Switch version, which will be in October. This change will let me have a bigger launch on more platforms in more languages. This year will be thrilling and challenging in equal parts. I'm excited to dive in.

Deadlines are such a double edge sword. It's great to have these checkpoints to work towards and they encourage you to bust a move as they draw closer, but I am enjoying myself so much its frustrating to rush it! Bumper Bout is is on display at BPAC 2025. Terrifying and enlightening to have the best (literally the number one player in the world) pinball players see what I'm cooking up. Humbled by the positive reception so far. Such a great bunch!
