Last Tuesday was the showcase for our Youth Engagement Scarborough Digital Media Cohort! Hosted at the Fox Theatre, our 20 youth participants presented works ranging from documentary, to animation, to short films. We're proud to support so much talent in Scarborough!

With immense gratitude for their incredible work, we announce that 2026 will be the final season under the leadership of Co-Artistic Directors, Helen Juvonen and Tyler J. Seguin. The two will support the search for GFT’s next artistic director, ensuring a thoughtful and seamless transition.

On this day in 1820, Anne Brontë was born! Anne died tragically young at the age of 29, but her works live on! Anne is buried in Scarborough, England, and we're looking forward to honouring her life and work in Brontë: The World Without, in Scarborough, Ontario this summer.

First up in memorable theatre moments from 2025 in this roundup by @intermissionmag.bsky.social is a "hilariously unhinged escape sequence" from our production of The 39 Steps, performed by the hilarious and talented trio of Sébastien Heins, Kiana Woo, and Isaiah Kolundzic!

Our final RGTC recipient is Robin Luckwaldt with Olivia Wheeler and Keshia Palm, furthering the development of their piece, "What is sleeping." We so enjoyed reading all the applications for this year's recommender grants, and we look forward to seeing how these pieces develop!

Mark Crawford and Kevin Wong are using their RGTC grant to expand The Hyacinthia, a pop-infused gay rom-com Greek musical tragedy!
