Kamiina Botan isn't my favourite yuri manga but it's definitely in the top 5, possibly even top 3

the first episode of kamiina botan is what i wanted; it tunes the weakest parts to the gay yearning tone of the more recent volumes. and the translation is fantastic too: naturalistic dialog with enough flair to evoke distinctive character voices. excited to see more of my fav yuri manga adapted.

Dunno if they'll ever mention it, but at one point in pre-prod, Aninari made alt versions of the design sheets that "restored" the hair/eye color to that of the character they're inspired by. He noted that it's not like they're *identical*, except with Ibuki where he admitted ok that's Yamasusu Aoi

Technical aspects and even drinking aside, it's fundamentally funny to create a story that openly borrows designs from works you love and subjecting one of them to cosmical levels of cuckoldry
