Finally had another DnD Session yesterday & loved spending most of the time exploring a library, getting to know our new companion and listening to one of the others playing out parts of their backstory.

Started reading "Pretend We're Dead: Capitalist Monsters in American Pop Culture" by Annalee Newitz & I already love the excellent chapter titles.

I keep missing out on cool-sounding, not always accessible, offline events related to play, gaming, game culture etc. Either I can't afford it financially (tickets, travel, accommodation,...), or it just doesn't work out for health reasons. Let me know if you have any tips for online events!

When people in my field who work in schools talk about gamification or "playful methods", they often say it's a change from the daily school routine. But as long as it's based on regular scoring systems, competition, and conformity, it's no different from school.

I'm reluctant to speak up on trans topics these days because it's often not worth the pain caused, so I'm probably going to regret this, but disappointingly a lot of people need to hear this. Accusing trans women of "male socialization" is an astonishingly cruel, callous, and spiteful thing to say.

4 days in Göttingen, including 2 1/2 days with our exhibition on culture of remembrance & games, with a focus on colonialism. Back home after days full of nervousness, excitement, stress, and surprises. Glad I decided to go. But we'll see how well I can still move around in the next few days.

Today I fought my way through dungeons in the Austrian Alps, invaded a tavern as a pack of rats, and lost the mecha pilot I was supporting as a mechanic. What a day.

Been thinking about dropping out of university on and off for the past few years. I enjoy learning, I like the interdisciplinary seminars, and I understand the importance of some kind of degree. At the same time, the combination of university, health, and work is increasingly wearing me down.

Played for the "Tangents Cure" achievement of I Was A Teenage Exocolonist today and felt miserable afterwards. Cried a little & will not choose that path again.

I noticed that I lost some weight over the last months & the first thought I had was "the next time one of my doctors talks about my weight I can argue that I already lost a few kg.". Which is pretty fucked up to be honest.
