Man, I really want a top 10 X rank badge, but I’m further from it now than ever. Cursing myself for not pushing myself more during the season I finished in 13th place.

What hurts is I know this wasn’t intentional because a win trader would be more subtle

In a past life, I was super into rollerblading and the similarities between that and Splatoon can feel uncanny at times. Maybe it’s just me getting old and realizing how cyclical life can be.

The removal of the division at 2000XP has done nothing to improve matchmaking times. Really frustrating to see Nintendo kill this game for no reason while also promoting it with their league.

A decent contributor to why there is so much burnout due to demotivation in this scene probably has to be everyone from the top down believing they’re terrible at the game. It’s okay to be proud of what you’ve learned and the progress you’ve made after hundreds of thousands of hours!

What’s a weapon/class that isn’t so dependent on reaction speed, but can still carry in solo? I feel outmatched by other short range shooters who can trade or kill me despite me initiating the engagement and them not knowing I was there. I just can’t move and shot on that level. #compsplatoon

I need it explained to me why an early 2010s CollegeHumor-style YouTube video is up for an Oscar.

Every time I tune into someone’s tournament stream: • 1 second of gameplay followed by 30 seconds of preroll ads • the final 90 seconds of the match • 3-5 minutes of results screen, counterpicks, weapon selection • 90 more seconds of gameplay then 90 more seconds of ads load • I close the app

I’m at a bit of a loss here

Honestly a great part about getting older is reengaging with art in a new context. I find myself falling in love with songs I’ve definitely heard before, but it’s like hearing them for the first time because the person I was when I first heard them wasn’t ready for them yet.

I know there are a lot of things preventing me from ever winning an SOS, but the new primary reason is my belief that going to sleep before 10:00pm fixes every problem.

I started telling the boy bedtime stories that I make up on the fly about him. They all start: “Once upon a time, there was a little boy named (his name)…” He’s such a fan, he’s now reciprocating by making stories about me. They all start: “Once upon a time, there was a little boy named Dada…”

Mid level should still be fun and everything, but the idea that society needs to restructure because everyone is unfairly stuck there is naive. A hard truth in life is sometimes you can give your all to something and want it more than anything else and still come up short.

I’m happy seemingly good movies were released this year and we don’t have a Best Picture category with filler like an Avatar sequel or more Wicked.

They might have nerfed Reef Slider a little too much

2025 was a great year. I made some needed quality of life upgrades to the things I use everyday. I got to see the world anew all over again through my son’s eyes. Most of all, I gained a daughter. A year ago today, she was just a dream in our hearts and now she’s snoring as she sleeps on my chest.

Can’t help but notice the correlation between someone’s maturity and their opinion on the Gem stuff. Everyone older and/or with life experience stayed quiet. Let’s hope this can be a lesson applied to the other topics that whip this community up into a frenzy.

I guess I shouldn’t have been surprised, but it is amusing that the two year old treats his birthday like any other holiday so when you wish him a happy birthday, he wishes you one back.

23rd place after starting 13-1. Got pretty lucky with some clutch wins early otherwise I’d have been in a whole too hard to dig out of. Happy others participated and we got a lot of matches. I wasn’t expecting that.

Despite the reputation, I find it quite difficult to win in tentatek division. I know I’m washed, but it shouldn’t be this hard?
