I don’t hate RE9, I’m just disappointed by a lot of the choices the devs made. It’s a perfectly fine game, classic Resident Evil / 7 with a slightly watered-down take on RE4R’s gameplay. Still solid overall, it just didn’t quite live up to what I was hoping and expecting from it!

If there’s a clear target painted on your head and a crowd primed to cause problems, skipping a con seems like the rational move. It doesn’t automatically mean guilt or wrongdoing; sometimes you just have to read the room and choose not to gamble with your safety in an environment already charged.

With all the intense anti-ABDL rhetoric floating around and very real death threats being thrown out, not just at Beta, but broadly at anyone even vaguely associated, it stops being drama and starts being a safety issue.
