I never played the original Oblivion, and only have a few hours into Skyrim, but so far the Oblivion remake seems pretty legit. It feels more polished than Starfield for sure. Problem is, I like playing games on the highest difficulty and I can’t even get past the goblins in the introductory caves

Scored another Aluminum PowerBook G4 for mad cheap. It was an “as is untested no power cord” jam. Reset the PRAM, popped in a Tiger installer and it looks to be in good shape. It’ll just need a new hard drive (there’s either no drive or dead one rn) and I’ll have to salvage a few key mechanisms.

As much as I’d rather be using an Apple monitor to pair with the Beige 3, the ones I want are basically unobtainium, especially in anything close to decent shape. The other monitor I have is for the Quadra, since it can only drive that monitors max res of 832x624. So, Sony Trinitron it is!

As I’m starting to experiment with old computer games on my Power Mac G3 and Quadra, I’m quickly realizing that the most difficult part of these games is that WASD hadn’t yet been standardized. Fortunately, many allow for rebinding. Not System Shock, apparently 😕

Assassins Creed Shadows’ photo mode is pretty fun, actually. It’s the first photo mode in a game that’s ever made me want to use it. Doesn’t hurt that the game is absolutely gorgeous.

Oh look it’s my 2010 MacBook Pro from college that I stuffed it a box when it stopped working ages ago and forgot existed! The battery was about to burst, so that’s gone, but it seems to have a bad GPU that’s preventing it from booting. I guess it’s time for a new battery and logic board!

I’ve got some big plans for this one Including, but not limited to, upgrading its 266MHz G3 to a 1GHz G4 😁 Anyway, it’s a Powermac G3 Minitower — the last beige Mac!
