I'm doing a play based on Hector Berlioz's Symphonie Fantastique and there's a lot of surreal stuff in there and I'm reading the stage directions out loud for an audience to get what's happening and I had to revise "Lizst and Hector enter a ball" to "Lizst and Hector enter a ballroom"

I've worked rather hard on these songs which are very short actually. Kinda contemplative music and each wave feeds into the whole I think. #music #musicsky #musiciansky

March 27th this album of instrumental music I wrote will release. It was one of the hardest things I've done though the songs are so short. It was delicate. @digitalgnosis.bsky.social and @royb0t.net helped with the cover design. Four years of Duolingo helped with the French titles.

sometimes the midi notes need to be in their own space away from the grid. It's like writing a dotted dotted quarter with a half dot on it. especially when doing pensive/reflective music... or funk... haven't done reflective funk yet (though I guess as J in @digitalgnosis.bsky.social I do a bit)

I'm so excited for the Noumenon Dance show this weekend that's using my Nick_Jones music "The Search" in one of the pieces! 7PM tonight and tomorrow and 3:00 PM Sunday at the Edge Theater! They are such a great company and can't wait to see what they do.

I gotta say making personal instrumental contemplative music is a bit challenging but worth it in the end. Like my other solo projects give me energy as they are usually, well, energetic...but this takes a different effort

I still have an official not for profit theatre company called Smoke & Mirror Productions that has been in my drawer for about 18 years. It's going to be producing again starting with a public staged reading of this play by an amazing playwright named Joshua Fardon.

The Noumenon Dance Ensemble in Chicago has my music piece "The Search" in this show that opens January 31 and runs to Feb 2 at the Edge Theatre. They do very engaging, visceral work and can't wait!

Tonight I'm playing the biggest role I've ever done in a staged reading. Kinda nervous but that's good as that's energy. Every time I act I feel like I learn something new about writing too. Especially in this script and I'm glad it's got some funny lines in it as well as some good vulnerability.

Back in 2020 I acted in a play and they had to move it to zoom It was the closest I was to the story so I was like why not Score the Odyssey? On streaming they had to split it into 2 albums but the bandcamp has the full underworld track as a bonus track. It's fun to see what randomly gets streamed
