I saw a similar job posting for STA Studios a month ago. It seems like the Philippines in particular is a popular place for content farms to look for animators for the reasons you just mentioned.

Unfun Fact - Content Farms often head hunt for animators and artists from foreign and economically struggling countries because there's less laws and protections in place for artists when they're outsourced They especially prey on recent graduates; they're inexperienced and thus "easier to exploit"

Let me emphasize that outsourcing, using the cheapest labor possible, and using AI are all typical content farm behavior, and being surprised a content farm would do this because they featured fanart in a couple of videos honestly shows a lack of awareness of the bigger picture.

Most OCs end up stolen because Content Farms do bare-bones googling to find them. An easy way to help protect against theft is to use websites that either block your blog/account from google searches, or don't appear in regular google searches.

This is why we made the "referential" ocs page on the sheet Since people sometimes confuse better-designed reference ocs for plain ocs. An OC implies ORIGINAL character. Inserting a character without being transformative into a series lacks originality. Thus we do not consider them true OCs.
