Feb 13, 2025: Gov's budget address, this year's RTW bill vote, and more snow (seems to be a Thursday thing this Feb?). The cost of an adequate education per student is defined in our state laws as $4,100, well below the actual amount schools need. A bill to increase this number to $7,356 would mean lower property taxes across the board. #HB550 #NHPolitics

Some voters don't know NH's school voucher program exists, but they need to understand it. A bill to remove the income cap will pull even more money from local schools (raising property taxes in the process) by allowing the richest private school families to use the program. #HB115 #NHPolitics

A bill to create new grounds for assault in the NH criminal code will apply to firefighters, EMTs, and police. Not sure about all the potential consequences, but I'm always interested in protecting the helpers, so I'll be watching this one. Maybe hospital workers can be next. #HB59 #NHPolitics

Right-to-Know was debated extensively in House Judiciary last term. A new bill would define a "Citizen" under RSA 91-A as either a person living in NH, or press that acts to inform NH citizens regardless of domicile. Defined terms straying from their plain meaning is confusing. #HB74 #NHPolitics

This may need an explanation. I was dxed w breast cancer during my '22 state rep campaign. Over the next term I juggled 3 massive surgeries and treatment. I'm doing ok, but I take photos of myself at the state house to encourage people whose bodies have been altered to still play in the game.
