This April is Autism Acceptance Month, and it’s a reminder that everyone’s experience is unique. Miranda and Mary may be shy in ways that some people find hard to believe, but that doesn’t make their voices any less real or their presence any less meaningful.

Every April is Acceptance Month for the Yoshizaki sisters who are autistic. My original character Toshiko is autistic, and Yoona is non‑verbal autistic but similar in some ways to Maja, Sekai, Mary, Liz, and Alice.
