What was your most favorite anti-piracy measure in a video game? (No fakes or forgeries, please.)

If a dated PC isn't going to e-waste, it's probably gonna get a working Windows or some Linux distro on it instead. For old Macs, do you leave it as is, switch to another OS, or attempt the newest macOS on them?

LocalSend was built with Flutter, which itself has some compatibility issues that are still unresolved to this day. If you're not patient enough to wait for a fix, you could use KDE Connect as an alternative. #FOSS

A nostalgic screen saver. I'm glad there are dedicated programmers who keep rebooting it, either as a screen saver or as a live wallpaper. Chupacabra Software replicated the formula for newer devices, while Screensavers Store subtly gave a few modern changes.

What is it that LocalSend does differently that makes it succeed more often than most other proprietary file transfer apps and services? #opensource #foss Is Nearby Sharing, Quick Share, and AirDrop doing too much or too little to work well? They've failed me more often than this open-source piece.

To my surprise, I never discovered Sticky Password until in my early 30s. It's nice to see how long-lived and what benefits it has. Only thing they can't do is hold files for you. At the time, I was still using LastPass up until it got passed over to some no-name corporate entity and then breached.

I prefer typing to find and launch my apps instead of doom-scrolling through a wall of icons on my Android phone. OLauncher and KISS Launcher have saved me a headache just for this. #FOSS

I don't always use a front-end app for watching YouTube videos. But when I do, I prefer Grayjay on Android mobile, SmartTube on Android TV, and FreeTube on Windows.
