After months of training, I completed my first triathlon this weekend. The swim and the bike went super well! The run portion, uh, well... I completed it anyway! It was really fun. I'm very sore now.

In a random act of kindness, a friend heard I was looking for this "20 Big Dog Run (No Bones About It)" pin, and that I was willing to pay an unfair amount of money for it, and he just gave me his for free.

My character is a red and white husky with no specific markings. I love me but unique and original it ain't. 100% certain that the follow up I would get if I responded is some version of "pay me to draw your character"

I'm glad everyone agrees it's spooky season already. Halloween deserves two months, minimum!

Successfully put up a bike rack in my garage this weekend, yay! Also, my mission to cover my bike in dog stickers is well underway!

And then a friend pointed me to the PBS Kids YouTube broadcast of Halloween things so now I'm watching that to calm down after scary game.

Having mentioned that horror media is one of the other things I like to post on here; wow, my boyfriend dug up "Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem" and got me to start playing it today. This is the best horror video game experience I've had in a long time. How this didn't sell I can't imagine.

Hello to all the new followers from my joke about punishing middles. Now back to the real purpose of this Bluesky: baking and horror movies. Made this lemon poppyseed Bundt cake! This is the first time I've had it come out of the pan and keep the shape (credit to my boyfriend who greased the pan)

Starting my list of 31 movies for this October. Some of these are rewatches that I want to watch with the fox, but most of them I've seen already. I would love any recommendations for spooky stuff you have! Obscure older stuff, great Halloween TV specials, cubby Halloween movies, anything!

It wasn't my original plan for today, but ended up spending most of my waking hours baking... First time making orange cranberry muffins. Also first time making peach cobbler, though while peeling the peaches I kept thinking about Weapons #IYKYK

We saw Weapons last night and it was amazing! I was a little skeptical going in, but this did not go any of the places I expected it to. I watch a lot of horror and this one was an absolute standout. The audience was more into this than any movie I can remember seeing in theaters. Recommended.

In related news, attended an absolutely amazing concert last week, Jacob Collier; encouraged to howl like a wolf multiple times as part of the concert experience. Sammy Rae and the Friends was the opening act; had never heard of them before, now I'm listening to them daily. What a show.

Wore my "Terrible 2 Tantrum Tour" shirt (and appropriate padding) to a concert at "the only national park devoted to the performing arts" last week. a man of at least 60 years old came up to me to tell me "that's the best shirt back I have ever seen".

The boyfriend bought a non-alcoholic cocktail recipe book and it's pretty neat :3 Made a cinnamon-cardamom syrup for a grapefruit-based drink that came out super good, and now tonight I'm making a blackberry and orange infused cold brew coffee as the base for another drink recipe.

Last week I got the third trophy I've received in three years playing in my poker league, so, that was neat :3 It's neat to win trophies as a grownup.

Drove to a state park today just to get some open water swimming experience and it was super worth it; beautiful day and super nice park.

Participated in a pretty neat 5K this morning, running through woods and farms. Got muddy, had fun, and improved my time from last month by about seven minutes.

Going to try to post more about my life here. I went to Vegas last week! Saw some really cool things, like this actual piece of the Titanic that was salvaged from the ocean floor. Did well enough poker to pay for the whole trip, too.
