I do think the style works for some characters better than others. Pigma looks particularly good. Again, it seems to somewhat come down to him being animated pretty well in the opening, whereas some shots of Fox look more procedurally animated? But I'm just guessing.

It would've been mad cool if they went the marionette route with Fox and crew, gave them a stop-motion look like South of Midnight, or Out of Words, or even the puppet rendering they're doing with Felt That Boxing. But 'ey. It is what it is.

But fr, I'm not crazy about the more realistic art direction for the Fox team, but part of me doesn't hate it? If anything, if they were gonna do this I would've preferred they try to reproduce the marionettes from the SNES box art. But shit, either way I'ma take it!! FFFFFUCK!!!
