Update from my cat on #caturday

I did not have "Godzilla TTRPG" on my 2026 bingo card, but I'm certainly here for it.

0-1-1 on day 3 leaves me 2-2-1. Still done at least 50% in a strong field so I'll take it. Scraped a draw vs Chorfs and narrowly lost vs Orcs. Losing 2 dudes on LOS was a problem but kept it competitive. Alas: couple of bad rolls swung the game. Last game to come. 3-2-1 would feel a lot better.

Blood Bowl report: I'm 2-1-0 on Mulligan's day 1 so likely to be among the bigger hitters on day 2. The Humans have sone reasonably well, but I have to say it's night and day in the dice from Water Bowl. Dunno why: they're literally the same dice... Anyway, hoping the luck holds for tomorrow.

Here's the team for tomorrow. Very much "gaming piece" level paint job but it'll do. The Gallus Cowboys will take the field again this weekend.

Last game at Water Bowl vd Lizards and it's been less crazy armour, but more bad scatter and failed 3++s. I just think Nobility ain't my team.

Water Bowl update... After being brutalised by orcs in game 1, I'm being brutalised by Norse in game 2. My players leave the field at pace (including a 1DB against a bodyguard: pow, 10, 12, 16) and fail to complete 2 DBs. My blodge blitzer has spent 2 games refusing to come out of the KO box.

So 2-0-1 on the day at Water Bowl Blood Bowl tournament - which is pretty decent. "Luckily" lost the first one so got 2 easier games after. Went 2-0-1 at the end of day 1. Highlight was playing in a custom-made stadium.

Blood Bowl Nobility update: most of the colours are on now. A bit of tidy-up and they'll be playable at least. Then it's a case of what I have time for before Friday. Feathers are colour coded for ease of ID on the pitch. Nothing worse than confusing two pieces on the board... #bloodbowl

Ah yes - so I'm at Waterbowl this weekend and, surprise, surprise... I chose a Blood Bowl team I havent yet painted. This time it's Imperial Nobility. I'm intrigued about the roster changes so fancied giving them a go. They're going to be a playing-piece-level paint job. #bloodbowl #lastminute

So on the way to Glasgow for Kinning Clash. Stars are unrestricted and - predictably enough I suppose - there's some absolute filth in there: H'thark/Bomber Blorcs, Skrorg OWA, Dribl/Druul/Grak/Crumbleberry Zons. Filth. Makes me wish I'd put in Zolcath or Estelle. Ah well.

Finished all my painting for tomorrow (well, technically today). Night (morning) all.

Blood bowl frogs are controversial. Not everyone wants them back in the game. Yes, it's a mechanic that is otherwise is rare and unusual. Yes, it changes a lot of what traditional blood bowl wisdom teaches us. But I reckon that's not a bad thing, though. Plus, it's funny when they go splat.

The Blood Bowl frogs are coming along. There are only 12 them, but I have an apo, so that'll be fine, right? Anyway, I have a few bits to finish, but they're almost tabletop ready then any extras are gravy. #bloodbowl

At my next tournament it'll be 2025 NAF Slann. As I have 4 Blitzers, 4 Catchers and not enough linefrogs, I'll paint one of the less ostentatious Blitzers as a lino. Might end up taking a Krox instead, but undecided at the moment.

No explicit mention of Blood Bowl in the Warcom preview this week - just a vague reference ro "reveals", so High Elf preview might be coming up but no guarantees.

Finally managed to get my Holyrood #parkrun done. And, yes, I checked the course page in advance (this time). Yes it was grey, cold and wet. Yes it was a beast of a course. But, yes, I did get up and get round and that's what counts.

Welsh National Champs is done and 3 Scots finish in the top 20. - Camelchops in 6th - Blitzy in 15th - TalonBay in 18th Congrats to all of them - plus well done to the winner: Chuck-Dredd (5-1-0) with OWA. All teams had 1170 and the same skillpack so interesting to see what works and what doesn't.

So Blood Bowl today went well and I went 3-0-0 at Tiny Titans 2 - taking home the coveted trophy. However, with it being a stunty tournament, pretty much any of the games could have gone either way - but I'm pleased nonetheless. Anyway big (not Tiny) tournament news is that Welsh Open is on now.

So the mushroom-themed Snotling Blood Bowl Team "Shiitake for Brains" will take to the field this weekend for larks, hijinks and shenanigans galore. Non-NAF and truly S&G but we'll see how we do. And yes, I have 2 wildly differently-sized trolls. #bloodbowl

So Skrorg did OK. Played vs Woodies and Brets. Brets with Karla were ruined by worse than average dice, but I reckon they needed an extra dude. 2-0. Woodies were made to score earlier than they meant so I had the chance to equalise in the first half then grind down to win 2-1.

So I'm in Aberdeen visiting parents for NY. I have a smart meter installation appointment on Tuesday back home in Edinburgh. This weekend there's Parkrun and Blood Bowl on near my house. The problem is...

Couldn't #parkrun as I cant even get out of the driveway... Anyway, coffee and a book in front of the fire is a decent runners-up prize.

So I just unexpectedly received an email from #GW promising a voucher for £10. Problem is: looks like it's already been used... I suspect an IT SNAFU as I think it may be the one I got last year. Ah well. It just dashed my dreams of buying... a quarter of a #bloodbowl team.

Happy New #parkrun Did Stonehaven Parkrun in a blizzard! ☃️ First time at Stoney PR and seems like a nice course - perhaps under better conditions - just a bit slippy today. Still a course PB for sure. 🙂 Also, found a cafe open nearby, so managed to get a proper post-run coffee too.
