Every now and again, the amazing Blood Bowl Community in Scotland comes together to paint up a team. Everyone provides a model and paints it to a rough (and often bizarre) colour scheme. One lucky contributor then takes the team home. We're just deciding on the team. Next up: colours. #bloodbowl

League night and my Khorne face off against some battle-dmaged Chorfs. Unfortunately, my Blockers forgot some key armour pieces and 2 of them were Badly Hurt and 1 KO-ed on regular blocks. Luckily the goats followed the game plan. 1-0 up at the half.

Saturday is #parkrunday at the always fabulous Figgate Park for Portobello Parkrun. Slightly overcast today, but that's perfect for running. Unfortunately I'm marshaling, but at least it's dry.

I realised I'd never actually seen Akira before, so I caught it on the big screen this weekend.

That's a wrap on Monkey Bowl. A thoroughly enjoyable time with the travelling Scots. I went 2-4-0 in the end. Pretty chuffed with the result - as Blood Bowl team tournaments are won by not losing... if you know what I mean. A couple of hairy moments, but overall felt in control most of the time.

Monkey Bowl going OK so far. 1-2-0 individually and a team 2-0-1 (good for 3rd). So far I've Blood Bowl-ed up a storm with a 1TTD, a 6+ dodge into a cage followed by a 1D pow. Tomorrow is likely going to be time to pay the piper, so I'll enjoy it while I can. #bloodbowl

Next weekend I'm off to Hartlepool for Monkey Bowl XIX. I'm quite excited to add another heritage Blood Bowl tournament to the list. Humans again as they're tiered quite favourably I think. I don't HAVE to do any painting, but I do have a proper Halfling to replace Dwarfling. #bloodbowl

Played my first game of the new ARK Blood Bowl league vs a pretty new Skaven player - who has played BB2 but nothing on the tabletop. A 2-0 win for me, but plenty of tips and tricks given and he'll hopefully have a few things to practice in the next few games. #bloodbowl

SBBC members are painting up a team to be auctioned for charity after the Scottish Team Champs. The idea is we can paint them any colour, so we should have 16 individual minis. This is how my Bret is getting on.

I'm starting up a new Blood Bowl league soon, so I figured I'd try something different. So this is my Khorne team: "Blood and Thunder" (might rename them later). I'm starting with 3 rerolls and 11 players. The roster lost a couple of goats in 2025, so it'll be interesting to see how it goes.

MSPs just voted against assisted dying. It would have been a comfort last year knowing that at the very least a dignified end was always available, rather than looking forward with trepidation, worry and no little sense of horror. I do hope that they can iron out the issues and try again.

After some uncertainty, it looks like BB4 (Warhammer Blood Bowl) will happen. Even better: looks like we'll be getting 7s to play with. That bodes well for an upcoming physical 7s release. #bloodbowl

WarCom #bloodbowl content alert! High Elves get some exposition today. To be honest, we knew most of it already, but the Prince's move was up in the air as well as some prices. We still don't know reroll cost or skill access yet, but we're mostly there. With that, there are no more Blood Bowl TOL.

I did not have "Godzilla TTRPG" on my 2026 bingo card, but I'm certainly here for it.

0-1-1 on day 3 leaves me 2-2-1. Still done at least 50% in a strong field so I'll take it. Scraped a draw vs Chorfs and narrowly lost vs Orcs. Losing 2 dudes on LOS was a problem but kept it competitive. Alas: couple of bad rolls swung the game. Last game to come. 3-2-1 would feel a lot better.

Blood Bowl report: I'm 2-1-0 on Mulligan's day 1 so likely to be among the bigger hitters on day 2. The Humans have sone reasonably well, but I have to say it's night and day in the dice from Water Bowl. Dunno why: they're literally the same dice... Anyway, hoping the luck holds for tomorrow.

Here's the team for tomorrow. Very much "gaming piece" level paint job but it'll do. The Gallus Cowboys will take the field again this weekend.

Last game at Water Bowl vd Lizards and it's been less crazy armour, but more bad scatter and failed 3++s. I just think Nobility ain't my team.

Water Bowl update... After being brutalised by orcs in game 1, I'm being brutalised by Norse in game 2. My players leave the field at pace (including a 1DB against a bodyguard: pow, 10, 12, 16) and fail to complete 2 DBs. My blodge blitzer has spent 2 games refusing to come out of the KO box.

So 2-0-1 on the day at Water Bowl Blood Bowl tournament - which is pretty decent. "Luckily" lost the first one so got 2 easier games after. Went 2-0-1 at the end of day 1. Highlight was playing in a custom-made stadium.

Blood Bowl Nobility update: most of the colours are on now. A bit of tidy-up and they'll be playable at least. Then it's a case of what I have time for before Friday. Feathers are colour coded for ease of ID on the pitch. Nothing worse than confusing two pieces on the board... #bloodbowl

Ah yes - so I'm at Waterbowl this weekend and, surprise, surprise... I chose a Blood Bowl team I havent yet painted. This time it's Imperial Nobility. I'm intrigued about the roster changes so fancied giving them a go. They're going to be a playing-piece-level paint job. #bloodbowl #lastminute

So on the way to Glasgow for Kinning Clash. Stars are unrestricted and - predictably enough I suppose - there's some absolute filth in there: H'thark/Bomber Blorcs, Skrorg OWA, Dribl/Druul/Grak/Crumbleberry Zons. Filth. Makes me wish I'd put in Zolcath or Estelle. Ah well.

Blood bowl frogs are controversial. Not everyone wants them back in the game. Yes, it's a mechanic that is otherwise is rare and unusual. Yes, it changes a lot of what traditional blood bowl wisdom teaches us. But I reckon that's not a bad thing, though. Plus, it's funny when they go splat.
