Previously, characters could only learn 5 skills at a time, learning more required replacing old ones. Now, u can still only have 5 skills at a time but extra skills will be stored in a skill book. U can swap skills in/out of the skill book from the equip menu #rpg #indiegame #retrogaming #jrpg

a new skill that shows you enemies weakness/resistance in battle. Later in the game you’ll get a bestiary that you can also look this info up in but it can be hard to remember everything during a battle, plus bestiary only shows info for defeated enemies #rpg #indiegame #gamedev #screenshotsaturday

Had an idea today for a battle mechanic today. Before there were no critical hits but now if you attack just as an enemies attack bar is full you’ll deal extra damage. Careful though cause attacking an enemy while its attacking will miss #indiegame #rpg #pixelgames #retrogaming #gamedev

Was able to use my palette change shader and some partial sprite draws to create an effect when characters are wading in water. Before a ripple sprite that covered the bottom half of their sprite would just be slapped over them haha #indiedev #gamedev #rpg #retrogaming #indierpg
