29.04.2026 Legends character of the day: Darth Tenebrous The Sith Master of the famous Darth Plagueis. He was eventually, of course, betrayed and murdered by his student. In his last moments he tried to possess Plagueis, but things went wrong and his consciousness stuck itself in an endless loop.

25.04.2026 Legends character of the day: Jorj Car'das A Corellian smuggler that lived a long and eventful life, meeting people like Mitth'raw'nuruodo and Master Yoda on his journeys and learning from the Aing-Tii monks during his retirement.

24.04.2026 Legends character of the day: Ben Skywalker The son of Luke and Mara Jade Skywalker. Born in the middle of the Yuuzhan Vong conflict and a major character in the series after New Jedi Order.

23.04.2026 Legends character of the day: Voort saBinring (also known as Piggy) He was a genetically modified, highly intelligent Gamorrean that served as a member of Wraith Squadron. His genetic modifications lead him to struggle with his identity, since they alienated him from other Gamorreans.

22.04.2026 Legends character of the day: Cronal, alias Blackhole/Shadowspawn A Sorcerer of Rhand, Prophet of the Dark Side, Imperial Intelligence Agent and Warlord. He followed a violent and nihilistic philosophy, only wishing to dominate and destroy.

18.04.2026 Legends character of the day: Elegos A'kla A Senator of the New Republic and a survivor of the Caamasi genocide. He was a good friend of the Jedi Corran Horn and an important part of resolving the Caamas Document Crisis in the Hand of Thrawn duology.

You read that right. This man is who ultimately stopped Palpatine from returning ever again. Therefore I believe that Rey should honor his legacy by calling herself "EmpatoReyos Brand".

17.04.2026 Legends character of the day: Empatojayos Brand He was a cyborg Jedi that survided the purge and helped out Luke Skywalker during the Dark Empire crisis. At the end, he sacrificed himself to take on the spirit of Palpatine into his injured body and drag him into the realm of the dead.

16.04.2026 Legends character of the day: Green Wizard (Born CT-19/39) A Clone Commando during the Clone Wars. He had a short appearance in the book Jedi Trial, where he fought and died under the commanding Jedi Anakin Skywalker and Nejaa Halcyon in the Battle of Praesitlyn.

15.04.2026 Legends character of the day: Naga Sadow This ancient Dark Lord of the Sith plunged the Galaxy into the Great Hyperspace War of 5000 bby.

Also responsible for one of my favorite villainous monologues in Star Wars. Insane as he was, his words contain a kernel of truth. I wish later material actually made more of an effort to show the dirty work being carried out by citizens...

Out of context this sure does sound silly. And it is supposed to. Hand of Thrawn is so good because its villains are a bunch of overzealous fools who put on a farce that won't work out long term but might still cause untold harm.

12.04.2026 Legends character of the day: BLX-5, better known as "Bollux". This droid was accompanying Han Solo and Chewbacca on the Millennium Falcon in the Han Solo Adventures.

11.04.2026 Legends character of the day: Darth Talon A Twi'lek Sith Lady among the order of the One Sith from the Star Wars: Legacy comic series. She's a major antagonist.

10.04.2026 Legends character of the day: Booster Terrik. A Corellian smuggler that helped out the main characters on several occasions. He also is in possession of an Imperial Star Destroyer, which he painted red.

09.04.2026 Legends character of the day: Kar Vastor The leader of the Upland Liberation Front on Haruun Kal before and during the Clone Wars. He was a mighty Lor Pelek (jungle master) with incredible power in the Force. His brutal and ruthless ways brought him into conflict with Mace Windu.

08.04.2026 Legends character of the day: Thrackan Sal-Solo He is the cousin of Han Solo and a major villain of the Corellian Trilogy.

07.04.2026 Legends character of the day: Bror Jace A Thyferran pilot who was a founding member of the reformed Rogue Squadron during the early New Republic. He was partially chosen for the Squadron for political reasons but proved both skilled and dedicated.

06.04.2026 Legends character of the day: Mount Sorrow A sentient mountain top on the forest moon of Endor. His tears had healing powers. He was a legend among the Ewoks.

05.04.2026 Legends character of the day: Nom Anor An infiltrator, spy, propagandist, and negotiator of the Yuuzhan Vong. He is heavily featured in the New Jedi Order series, in which he is a key antagonist.

25.03.2026 Legends character of the day: Vima Sunrider The daughter of Nomi Sunrider. First introduced as a baby in the Tales of the Jedi comics and later one of the main characters of Tales of the Jedi: Redemption, in which she seeks out the exiled Ulic Qel-Droma.

24.03.2026 Legends character of the day: Tahiri Veila A human girl raised by a tribe of Tusken that became a student at Luke Skywalker's Jedi Academy at a young age. She became best friends with Anakin Solo and had many adventures with him in the Junior Jedi Knights novels.

23.03.2026 Legends character of the day: Tionne Solusar One of Luke Skywalker's first Jedi students and later a teacher at the academy. Her raw power with the Force was very limited, but she provided valuable contributions to the Order as a historian and mentor.

Reading about bugs now (the things I do for Star Wars...)

I have finished The Last Jedi (novel, 2013) and it was a lot of fun. A really cool conclusion that left a lot of avenues open. A shame they won't ever be explored now, but at least we can imagine them for ourselves. It really delivered on action, intrigue, metaphysics and character work. 8/10
