Enthusiastic film photography enthusiast. 35mm. 120. 5x7.
Question for the group. Going to Mexico in a month. Do I take the Mamiya 7 or a 6x9 view/press camera?

Bet you all didn't know I had a Nikon. Got this at an estate sale for $10 a few years ago. Thinking about using my pre-ai lenses. But, first, waiting on some foam to redo the light seals.

First impressions of Arca-Swiss and Benro tripod head: Camera is unbelievable smooth. Bright ground glass. Can pack up and set up easily. The zeros help - even though I forgot to zero out two shots. Hybrid head was great because also used it for 35mm and ball was good while I used gears for A-S.

Got reminded of this from a conversation on a post by
@peterdurst.bsky.social
. A 1963 lens test (for what they're worth) of the Rolleiflexes of the time, which would've been the "E" versions.

So, my 80mm Mamiya 7 lens is getting dehazed. I was afraid it had gotten in the cemented parts. Thought no big deal, I'll just get another if I have to. $1,200??? My god, what have you all done?!

Had the Mamiya 7 out a few weeks ago and when the pictures came back, something was not quite right. Checked the lens and it had developed haze. It's in Texas now with the guy who put a Mamiya 7ii vewfinder in my 7.

Had a portrait-themed film walk last week and got some of those back. Remembered my reflector this time. This is with Kodak Gold and the Hasselblad H1.

Some of not-quite-full-fall pictures. I had also forgotten how to operate the camera. All on Ektar and the H1.

All of you inspired me to overcome the problem of not being able to get film in this and get some in.

Okay, final tally for the weekend after getting in some portraits today. Pretty good considering my lackluster output this year.

First time going to Nashville. New and old. In case you're wondering what kind of place it is, it has three prominent bars named after really terrible people. Taken with the Maxxum 7 and Ferrania P33.

Maxxum 5 out on our mini-walk tonight. I like this as a lightweight option compared to the 7.

Back in the Southland. Not enough time up north. Only shot two rolls. My area wasn't ready for its peak. But, the "junk" Maxxum 5 was here when I got back and it works.

After all that prep, I decided to leave the Arca at home. Heavy bag, 3:45 a.m. wake up and long weekend made me decide to simplify and pack the H1.

While organizing some files, I came across this which would have been at the beginning of my film journey - and also the beginning of my recovery - closer to 11 years than 10 now. It was a damn fine way to fill idle hours when I was counting every one of them.

Last of the locating-lost-files-with-a-new-computer pictures. Taken a few years ago at a failed power plant project in Mississippi. This was with Velvia 50 and a Minolta XD11 w/24mm (handheld).

A couple of years ago, I decided I wanted to move to AF for SLR. Went A-mount b/c I wanted a Zeiss AF trio. Got a Maxxum 7, then picked up a Sigma 50. Then swapped the mount on the 90mm Summicron R. But, finally picked up one of those Zeisses. One out of three ain't bad.

This can be a screw-up Sunday post. Not sure what happened here. It almost looks like I had an ND filter that was too small, but this was before I started using those. Or a scanning issue at the lab? Anyway, this was a Pentax 6x7 and Pro 400H.

I didn't butcher this one originally, but definitely an oldie. This was at Cabrillo National Monument in San Diego. (It's the public restroom). Taken with the Mamiya 7 and probably a form of Portra.

I had totally forgot about this one. This was lockdown and I was living in a one-bedroom apartment that had a bathroom that got great light so I would go in there in the morning. This was the Rolleiflex and an unknown black and white film stock.
