Another Top 10 in a Belgian Junior Classic for Lenny Karstedt. The bunch sprint was very chaotic and against some very fast guys like Fedrizzi and Schnyder that is as good a result one could've hoped for.

Great team performance by Lotto-Kern Haus putting 3 riders in what is now effectively a race of 29 riders making the two front splits. Huppertz his usual reliable self + Morang & Koech strong. Ed Uptegrove is a name to remember after his start to the season. He should have interest by bigger teams.

Very good 6th place for Paul Fietzke at Youngster Coast Challenge, the first big U23 race of the year. Was out all day in the break that always was within 1-minute of the peloton but held on and fought for the win. Nice to see Pavel Sumpik on the podium and progressing after a hard first U23 year.

Sign of the times when big, well organized and supported Junior teams have budgets of 500.000€, which is well more than some of the German Conti teams. Team did a good job supporting Mauss last year, hopefully Karstedt, Esch, Bell can follow this year! www.thueringer-allgemeine.de/sport/articl...

Lidl-Trek announcing their Junior set-up which will provide 10/13 roster spots for German/regional talents. Fits in with the whole team setting up their operations in southwest Germany. Different pathway to what RBH & Grenke did in internationalizing their roster and cutting their regional roots.

Great Junior debut for Edda Bieberle today at Trofeo Binda Junior. She has been a dominating force in the German Youth ranks and now managed to bring that onto an even bigger stage. Big talent to watch over the next few years!

Steinhauser with a very nice ride today to defend his GC position on such punchy terrain. Hopefully the hard racing in the legs of everyone will help a guy like him who is more of a diesel engine against Vauquelin over the next few days as well.

Nothing too spectacular but decent showing today by Selma Lantzsch in 21st. Nets her a few UCI points in her first race of the season and against strong opposition that has been racing a couple weeks already.

Stage to remember in Paris-Nice today. Outstanding ride by RBH & especially the Van Dijke brothers. Georg Steinhauser once again showing his big engine on a hard and attritional stage. Very impressed by Vauquelin who missed the early split & was super strong chasing all day, often by himself.

Jermaine Zemke wins stage 5 of Tour du Rwanda. His first pro win in his 3rd year as an U23. Great sprint hy him coming into the last corners first and beating Itamar Einhorn convincingly!

Moritz Kretschy with a great day out at Tour du Rwanda getting 2nd on todays stage after giving away the win to Mathijs De Clercq for helping him ride into the yellow jersey. Was a strong attack in the final where they dropped the rest of the lead group and Picnic/Zomermaand weren't in the picture.

Really sad to see this race fall away. One of the races that introduced me into following smaller Europe Tour races. Remember JTL winning this in his wonder season 2012 & Herklotz in his great 2013 season. Also always had those bad but nicely designed stage profiles.

Mathys Rondel one of the prime candidates to have a proper breakout season and establish himself among the GC riders. Maybe not yet in a Grand Tour but definitely in the harder one-week races.

Great ride by Pescador today and especially Henrique Bravo. Brazilian MTBer who instantly won one of Spains most prestigious Junior stage races when he came over to Europe in 2024. Got picked up by Soudal to their Dev program and has been developing really good ever since. One to follow this year!

Nice way to kick off the season for Justyna Czapla at Tour Down Under. 14th and the winning the white jersey, on a pretty punchy climb that doesn't suit her perfectly. Hopefully this will lead to her getting some more chances to ride for herself in the smaller stage races later in the year.
