Earlier today, the House of Representatives voted to end the partial shutdown of the government. However, the battle over funding DHS rages on as the vote does not extend. All of Michigan's Democrats voted no on the measure.

New — I spoke to eight people who were present at the ICE protest on Saturday in Portland, Oregon when federal agents deployed tear gas and rubber bullets into a crowd of families, children, elderly and disabled people, and their pets. These are their stories:

And it didn't make a headline. Portland was buried in general stories, if mentioned at all. Rather odd, given all the attention and government "shutdown" over the issue, right?

NBC gave this brief mention in the broadcast - but it was VERY brief. For people who usually wallow in celebrity "news," the lack of attention sure appears to be deliberate.
