Apparently I’m the only woman foolish enough to have entered the optional hill climb at the race on Bell Island this weekend so my only goal is to beat the time I set last year 🤷‍♀️

A bunch of guys I know did a group ride this morning along the same route I rode this afternoon and I'm just wondering when my bIOLOgIcAL AdvAntAgE is supposed to kick in To be clear: I was pushing around 92% of my FTP for this entire ride, so I was not going easy.

I really wish every time I participated a cycling race didn't feel like an act of defiance requiring bravery on my part (above and beyond the bravery required to ride a road bike at speed) but here we are I guess

An angry man yelled “get off your fucking bike!” at me because I had the temerity to ride it at a walking pace around a crowd of pedestrians while politely and repeatedly saying “excuse me” so I shouted “fuck you!” back at him which is less polite I suppose 🤷‍♀️
