Another house on my street succumbs 😭

I ran a half marathon today in memory of a beautiful friend who told me it was her dying wish to have a race run in kangaroo suits in her honour. She was an awesome friend, so it had to be done. Some colleagues came to cheer us on, wearing 'Sonja masks', which was a bit freaky!

This is perfect, cosy Sunday morning reading.

I was in town today & took a stroll past Trafalgar Square just as the peaceful protesters were being carried off. There were so many police vans about that you'd have thought a riot was going down. A tourist asked me what was happening. I tried to explain. She replied "but these people are elderly".

Is it just my smutty mind, or did someone not really think this window display through properly?

Compare the wall-to-wall British TV coverage of Yaxley-Lennon's March to its almost non-existent coverage of the much bigger Remain marches. British TV is, with a handful of exceptions, serving as a fascist propaganda machine. It amplifies fascism and suppresses liberalism & socialism.

The scenes on our streets are shameful consequences of decades of austerity - government after government fanning the flames of anti migration instead of tackling inequality. We can & must make different choices. Solidarity to all communities under attack. We stand together.

Passed through Waterloo Station earlier. The place was awash with flags and MAGA hats. I wasn't prepared for the feelings of shock and boiling rage that came up from within me.

Stayed in this beautiful house to celebrate the in-laws 50th anniversary. As we drove home the leaves were falling and people were wearing raincoats. It felt like a bookend to the summer.

I saw a physio today for some hip pain I've been having. The physio (aged about 12) told that I wasn't 30 any more and I should stop acting like I am. She gave me some exercises, told me to rest and waved me away. Now I feel a bit deflated.
