The toddler asked for lots of extra cuddles tonight and after watching lots of videos with him from earlier this year lately I’m so acutely aware how greedy a thief time is so I of course obliged.

I’ll be playing with the toddler until his bedtime then watching a seasonal movie tonight. Not a classic, but one of those cheesy Netflix ones. I’ve already watched Oh What Fun and Merry Little Ex-Mas. What else is good this year?

2.5 drinks over the course of a 5 hour span so of course I slept like shit on the night the toddler was away. He is almost never the reason I don’t sleep well but I didn’t have to actually get out of bed until after 8 instead of right at 7 so there’s that.

W is spending the night at his grandparents & in the absence of him since 10am my husband and I have just been quoting his greatest hits to each other

The toddler managed to convince us he needed another sick day by being totally pathetic this morning so of course I booked the Dr visit to rule out anything extra nefarious before the weekend. Anyway he’s dancing to CCR in the living room now

I can’t change the season of life I’m in with all the losses compounded with toddler germ crash outs and I’m trying really hard to give myself grace & not feel like I am doing something wrong by missing so much work. But I can put on a cheesy Xmas movie while the kid naps.

After back to back snow days with dad of course W woke up with a fever today so now he’s got a sick day with mom. I’ve had more unplanned absence from work this year than in my career so far feels like (Rick thinks it’s his sick day)

Husband had to order instacart for some necessities while he was home with the toddler today and they included a family pack of double stuff nutter butters that he definitely did not order. So maybe god is real.

I’m so brave you guys not only did I come to work in the snow I also went out in the continued snowfall to go pick up a soup & sandwich lunch for myself

I don’t have any clients until 3 and that one is online with a very flexible 4pm that could also be online but I drove to the office because I’ve put off a work project way too long & it’s due tomorrow and I know I won’t work on it at home.

1. I confused the baby’s bday with his brothers and he is 9 months old and 2. W is not interested in sharing his toys or his mommy with this other baby lol

My cousin (who just lost her mom) is bringing her 6 month old baby over tomorrow for us to watch. Originally her mom was supposed to help watch him for this outing with her in laws 😭. But we will get a 3 hour glimpse of what it would be like to have babies 14 months apart

We watched Red One again for this year. It’s a very fun movie that is about 30 minutes too long

Wicked For Good was lovely. Cynthia & Ariana are perfectly cast. My tears started as expected at the line “there’s a kind of a sort of cost” in Thank Goodness, had a reprise in “No Good Deed” & came full force during “For Good”. storytelling wasn’t as good as the first half but the leads carried it.

My aunt’s funeral followed by Wicked For Good today. Not sure why I bothered with eye makeup.
