my mom got covid in feb 2020 and never recovered, i am now her full time caregiver. long covid is a curse and a nightmare that i don't want to experience any more than i already have. additionally, i haven't had so much as a cold since 2019 and i think masking has a lot to do with that.

I routinely see people get mad at others who remind them to wear masks in public as though we're the ones causing them problems. In reality, Long COVID is a pretty awful thing a lot of us are trying to save you from the worst effects of it. Their outbursts sound like kids who're big mad at seatbelts

I think most of us would be overjoyed if there were studies showing that SARS2 is mild and the risks are actually low. None of us like living like this! It's a logistical nightmare trying to safely access healthcare, and the more people you live with, the more challenging it is to avoid infection.

also, it's cheap to support your reasoning not with citation or studies but simply by stating that you think people who continue to take covid seriously do so out of fear, especially when said people are readily handing you ample research to back up their claims. feels like ad hominem to meeee

I just think that if you are going to state definitively that something is not a risk, then you should be able to readily cite at least ONE study that wasn't later retracted as false. or you should have to read ten of the newest papers on how covid fucks you up. vibes will not save you!!

and then hundreds of their followers harass you and you get death threats, the end!

you tell this person that their actions are directly contributing to the public disappearance of wide swaths of the population who can't even safely get the medical care necessary to survive and this person goes well it's not fair to me, I have to live my life.

and THEN maybe you go hey masking in places such as grocery stores, public transit, gee I don't know, doctors offices and hospitals, could be good especially so disabled people can safely see the dr or go on a bus, and they're like, no that's unreasonable.

and then maybe you're not jaded or you're willing to be harassed by said person's followers on the off chance that some information will get across so you try to share said scientific research or personal experience and they're just like no that's not true. everytime...

it's almost daily you see a moderately known person with a large following authoritatively say that covid isn't a big deal anymore and you go okay so what studies have you been reading because hundreds of thousands papers disprove that and they're just like well because I think so. vibes alone.

Recognizing that long Covid exists would also mean recognizing that there was a bipartisan effort to allow as many people in the population as possible to get sick all so the wealthy could maintain their wealth. Both parties are complicit in forcing us into an inhuman and eugenicist situation.

Actually COVID advocates are clean air advocates! To make this claim without doing any research is shameful. Terms like "COVID doomer" and "mask scold" originated on the anti-vaxx, COVID denying far right. When even people like you adopt their views, funding clean air becomes an impossibility.
