This is exciting

Heading out to work this morning, I glanced in the mirror expecting to see the unshaven good looks of a chiselled cowboy heading out to the prairie. Imagine my disappointment in seeing someone who appeared to be late for the day centre staring back at me. Getting old is a laugh eh?

Someone asked me what I would say if I reviewed this and without thinking I replied 'no monkeys, 2 stars' Whilst it is true this is a monkey free novel, it still warrants more than 2 stars. And I am very self critical writer as a rule.

I'm new here. I'm English. I'm in Fiji. Two things to say about this. When I was young I found comfort in the idea that I will go to faraway places. Travel was not culturally or economically available. Dreaming was. And other places existed. Mysterious and bright. Second, I'm in Fiji. 😊
