You can tell a lot about a candidate by looking at who supports them. Why is Mike Lee endorsed by National Party aligned C&R, Rock the Vote NZ conspiracy theorists and cycleway saboteurs?

It was fantastic to attend the NgÄti WhÄtua commemoration of the 185th anniversary of the founding of Auckland/TÄmaki. 18th September 1840 Apahai te Kawai gifted 3000 acres of what is now downtown Auckland to Governor Hobson. Can you imagine a better city foundation than a gift between cultures?

Was it general practice for laws to use male pronouns by default? I read the Electoral Act 1893, which refers to "his own right", even though the clause specifically states that all people have the right to vote.

This is unfortunate. The minister here is ill advised. It isnāt weird. Itās rational, itās about forever costs and forever inefficiencies. ITāS ABOUT PRODUCTIVITY. Sprawlier cities are lower productivity, w higher ongoing public & private costs. eg traffic congestion. More spread = more driving.
