I watched IMMACULATE and though the movie has some problems it's a gorgeous feast for the eyes. It's filmed beautifully and Sydney Sweeney does the scream queen bit well. I give it a passing grade and a recommend. Credit to her for choosing such dark and controversial material. She co-produced it.

I suppose it was seeing "Hellraiser," the original. During one scene the guy in front of me literally jolted an inch or two out of his seat. That was the only time I ever saw that happen.

There are some problems with ALIENS. Ripley ends up 60 years in the future, but things haven't changed much. Unlikely for an advanced society. Then there are the anachronisms. Van Leuwen's "shake&bake colony" and Hudson's "illegal alien" joke. The US southern border is unlikely to still be an issue.

I just finished reading ALAS, BABYLON by Pat Frank and I must say that after more than sixty years it still holds up. The very beginning is a little slow and there is a bizarre switch in main viewpoint character early on, but the story still packs a wallop.
